Built in 2020, Sitting Bear Cabin is a quaint oasis that sits on a private 6 acre pond where you can find yourself swimming, fishing (catch and release only), or just relaxing on the bank watching fish jump and enjoying the views. Complete with a full size kitchen, the front porch is where the beauty lies. With views of the Ute Mountain in the distance, you’re sure to enjoy your morning coffee in this space. This cabin is centrally located to mountains, hiking trails, lakes and rivers for all your recreational plans.

We loved it here!
My husband & I & our best friends spent a weekend at this fabulous little oasis. The host was wonderful and welcoming. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We loved swimming in the pond and sitting on the porch watching hummingbirds, deer, muskrats, and lots of birds. It was so peaceful. We also spent a great day at Mesa Verde National Park seeing the amazing cliff dwellings. We would highly recommend staying here and would happily go back!

Perfect escape
There's something really special about that place. It's got a real good energy that's perfect for connecting back to yourself and the universe. It was so much fun playing in the lake and getting visited by the super friendly and lovey neighbor dog. But it was so nice feeling so at peace in such an amazing ambiance. Will definitely be coming back.

Just a Gem of a Getaway Cabin
The Sitting Bear Cabin is a comfortable, welcoming getaway cabin. It's easy to get to nearby attractions and come home to a quiet pond setting. The furnishings are great, the beds comfortable and the decor is modern and attractive. The kitchen has great utensils and everything you need. It shows that Becky took great care in the cabin's design touches such as rounded corners, a rugged edge to the marble countertops and window ledges, and the wooden floors. And everything is CLEAN. Thanks again, Becky, for allowing us to visit your cabin!

Beautiful Cabin
We celebrated my wife’s birthday along with some friends and it was the perfect getaway! That lake is so beautiful and everything was perfect!

My husband, Rod and I moved onto this property in 2001 where we built our home and raised our two boys. Rod is a third generation farmer and I am a Registered Nurse. We built Sitting Bear Cabin with hopes of bringing people to our area and sharing our love of Southwest Colorado and all that it has to offer.
Our home is located on the property (although a good distance from the cabin so you will have plenty of privacy) and we are readily accessible.

Why they chose this property

Guests have access to a private pond for swimming, fishing or just relaxing and enjoying the views. Guests recreate (swim, fish, etc) at their own risk as there is no lifeguard on duty.

What makes this property unique

Access to the property is through a secured gate, you will be given an access code upon check-in.
