Wonderful view
We loved the view. The living room furniture was very comfortable. The grill worked great and had lots of gas. The kitchen was well equipped with plates and pots and glasses. The house stayed wonderfully cool in high heat. We could have used more deck chairs. It was a little bit buggy. We knew it didn’t have a screened porch, but kind-of wished it had. Beautiful sunsets. Something to understand about the house is that there is nowhere to take a walk. It’s straight up hill or downhill on the road. Close to great trails (10-25 min drive) and rafting. We went rafting, hiking and in a train ride and recommend all of those activities. We slept more, played guitar, read, and periodically went in to the Bryson Bakery (pastries and sandwiched Thurs-Sun.). One of the best finds in the area. It was a lovely vacation, away from chores and noise. The stars are brilliant and it is very quiet. We reported a flickering (strobe) light in the bathroom. They came to jnvestigate that and the larger microwave that did not have power to it, but they were not resolved. We used our cell phone lights to see in the main closet.

Amazing!
We loved this house so much. I got teary eyed when I first walked in because the house and view are so beautiful. It was so relaxing up on that mountain. We enjoyed exploring Great Smoky National Park and other than that we relaxed at the house. One of our most peaceful vacations ever.

Jacuzzi Didn’t work
Spoke with the Vacsa customer service for separate nights, and no one ever came to correct the issue! Wasted two days of vacation for a maintenance person to show up that never came!

Beautiful place and location that needs maintenance.
The house and the location are beautiful. However, the house has not been properly maintained. For example, one toilet seat was broken which made it useless for women. A towel rack was broken. 3 of the refrigerator door shelves were broken. Interior shades/awnings were broken. A door on the master bath vanity, plus other smaller things needed attention. These issues were all turned in to management but nothing was fixed. The place has a history of these problems if you read the reviews. Being charged for a “premium” host with these issues is questionable.

Worst Christmas Ever
After arriving on Thursday, the pipes froze up on Friday, then busted in the downstairs area on Saturday (in which we felt obligated to clean) We were told that the water issue would be fixed on Monday if we could tough it out.. then Monday morning I was informed that no one would be able to get to us and fix the issue earlier than Wednesday. We had to relocate to a hotel for the night on Monday in order to bathe.. Trying to cook Christmas dinner was a nightmare.. we had to buy bottled water to clean, and bathe with, which wasn’t easy to find or access.. and I’ve yet to get any compensation as promised by Vacasa rentals..

Breathtaking views!
My husband, Mother, family friend and I booked the Eagles Nest for our week on the "other side" of the Smokies. Wow, breathtaking views, quiet evenings and such comfort in the home. The king bed upstairs sleeps so comfortably and that closets..wow! Lots of room upstairs and downstairs. The set up fit us perfect with everyone having their own private, comfortable space. The only drawbacks were the washing machine didn't work, but we were informed acouple of days before our arrival, so we knew to pack more and the upstairs jacuzzi tub jets didn't work. We would definitely book again and would recommend this space for your quiet vacation.

Disappointed
The views saved our vacation! If not for them, we would have gone elsewhere and demanded a refund. The toilet in the half bath clogged on the second morning but despite calls and e-mails to Vacasa, no one came out until Friday, the day before we checked out. The smell was bad. The house wasn’t clean when we checked in and the microwave did not work at all. The toaster only worked on one side of one slot. This cabin is remote and you can’t order delivery or drive down to pick something up so you have to be able to cook. Despite assurances by the property manager on Friday, I haven’t heard a word from owner relations. I don’t think I will use Vacasa again.

Peaceful, secluded, beautiful views
We had stayed in this home several times before it was a Vacasa rental. It has been slightly upgraded since then but could still use bathroom upgrades and a dehumidifier in the downstairs rooms as it smells a little musty since the back wall is against the hillside. We love the layout as there is no loft just a playroom/den downstairs with a TV for quiet main level adult conversation. The kitchen is well appointed with most everything you would need to cook in, as we did. There was no regular coffee maker just a Kurig and we took filters and coffee for a drip. We did purchase reusable Kurig filters and left them for the next guest to use. House location is great! Only 15 minutes to Bryson City and paved roads in the gated community. It offers complete privacy with gorgeous mountain views and the distant sound of the Alarka creek while sitting on the deck. Beautiful star gazing..we spotted 8 satellites going over and the Milky Way is visible on a dark night. A wonderful place to "get away from it all".

Great Cabin/Home with Fantastic View
My family and I had a great time at the Cabin. The view of the mountain side is incredible. Very few bugs while sitting on the deck. No mosquitoes, or gnats but did notice an occasional fly and wasp. The premises around the cabin were all well kept, the interior extremely clean. Kitchen area had pretty much everything that we needed. Plenty of dishware and utensils. Washer and dryer worked well. Well stocked on towels. Good water pressure. There are some detergent packs for the washing machine and dishwasher but you should consider bringing your own to have enough for a week. Satellite internet is as good as satellite internet can be. Somewhat spotty at times but worked for the most part. Owner/Agent contacted us through text while we were on our way to notify us that they had a maintenance man on site temporarily but was unresponsive to my reply text. We also attempted to contact owner/agent through same text message regarding the hot tub because we were unable to turn on the jets, and never received a reply. There may have been another method we should have used to contact them but we weren't all that concerned about the hot tub at the end of the day. Closest grocery store is Ingles which has about anything you would need but they have the market in the area so their prices are on the high side. Recommend scheduling a trip to Sylva Walmart with a cooler or insulated bag. Overall a great stay stay and would highly recommend reserving to anyone. Definitely high on our list for future vacations.

If you want to get away from it all..
If you are looking for quiet, peace, and some amazing nighttime viewing of a billion stars, this is the place for you. Very quiet, secluded, private. We did enjoy our week. Some issues: Was a very steep road leading up to the location, but not horrible. It is a 1 lane road, not sure what would happen if another car would be coming the other way. Cabin was very nice, needed a better cleaning. Outside fan was broke, toaster just tripped the gfci breaker, wifi worked about 20-30mins a day. Only 1 blanket in the entire place. Was a little chilly at night (need a bunch of throws and at least 1 blanket / bed!), It is about 20 mins from downtown Bryson City, and about 15+ mins from just about anything. But it was quiet, and thats what we were after.

A great mountain getaway
This property was everything shown and described in the listing. The only issue was that the Wi-Fi did not work during my stay. I also had an inquiry the day I left about an outdoor ceiling fan that was missing one or two blades. The fan was in that condition when I first showed up so am waiting to hear back from the property manager on that. But the views, home, and amazing deck was all you could want. So beautiful.
