Wow
Absolutely the perfect retreat for our spring break ski trip. Beautiful views of sugarloaf mountain from the cabin. The host was incredibly friendly and very helpful with recommendations. And the cabin was beautifully decorated with so many wonderful details to make our experience memorable. Well stocked kitchen (we ate out mostly at recommended restaurants that were very good and had friendly staff), lots of games, books and a wonderful treat was left for us as a welcome. Highly recommended Cabin on the Ridge!

Everything we wished for!
Amazing experience, from A-Z! I could repeat every positive comment written before but it's all been said! This location and the property manager are top notch! Beautiful memories made with my best girlfriends and the little details LauraLee and her husband did before we arrived made it even extra special! We will be back and thank you, from the bottom of our hearts!!!

Fall foliage in a quiet cabin
The stay was excellent. The cabin was so pretty and new feeling. It was well stocked with anything we needed. The host was amazing and responsive. This was my first VRBO experience but it was great.

Lovely Cabin in the Woods
Beautiful Cabin in the woods. I was in the area to hike the Bigelows. The little touches is what made my stay so enjoyable. For example, the fire pit was set up with tinder, so I only had to strike a match to have a fire in the evening. It was so nice to come home to comfortable bed after an 11 hour hike. I definitely want to book again!

About the host

We are about the adventure. It's in our nature to explore and learn. We love hosting and We love people! .... and new places to investigate for the hidden gems. If anything draws us it's the love of nature. We are constantly watching for wildlife, looking forward to season changes and embracing challenges only mother nature could whip up. Our full time home is a tiny cabin on the bank of the Carrabassett River. We like the simplicity of small home living coupled with peace and tranquility. We have a cemetery on that property that we respect and take care of from the 1800's! A simple life of love and family is our highest expectation. Maine will always be home.

Why they chose this property

Our 'Cabin on the Ridge' is a special place. It couples our intense love of Maine & our adventurous spirits. We can be out on the ITS trails in the winter...riding our bikes here in the summer...or fishing from our laker canoe. We love to cook in our kitchen and then watch the literal movie of our views while we dine. There's something here worth sharing. This cabin was renovated by us with love. Its not perfect...we didn't want it to be. The idea of a cabin get away to us was a place that was perfectly imperfect. It's a little quirky but isn't that a little fun? It has the nuts and bolts to keep you safe and warm! It's got the welcome that makes you want to walk around and check it out. It's got the peace and charm that leaves you recharged when you head back your way. It's a little addicting!...It's home.

What makes this property unique

Wildlife Sightings: Sitting on the couch one morning and caught movement from the from the front window. A bull moose was in pursuit of a mate who was trotting quickly down the driveway as she kept a safe distance in front of him. Once in a life time event! Deer yarding at the bottom of the property in the winter months. Pileated woodpecker taking a crack at a huge tree in the back. A fox on the hunt to feed her 3 kits playing in the grass. A red cardinal perched on a snow filed hemlock. Momma skunk waddling her 5 kits through the woods. As this is being written, the weather went from blue skies to whiteout snow. The mountains have their own schedule. We just have to respect the beauty and danger that comes with the territory. It's a roller coaster so hold on! Before this property came into our lives, it had been empty for quite some time. We were not even through the door before we knew we wanted to bring it back to life. We appreciate the area and people of Eustis, and will continue to respect and maintain what it has offered us. We are so pleased to share our slice of heaven with folks.
