Why they chose this property
Unique 18thC style with modern updates, plenty of space both inside and out. The 1 metre thick walls give a sense of peace and comfort. Unique bedrooms, 2 with ensuites and the third with the family bathroom to itself.
There is a cosy lounge/dining room with Charnwood wood burning stove. There is also a separate kids playroom with TV, DVD player and music centre. Beautiful location and garden, and a 5min walk to the Laithes riverside playground and a 15min walk to the excellent Sun Inn at Newton Reigny,

What makes this property unique
Townend is a traditional Lakeland farmhouse with many original features, along with modern updates to the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms. But very few have exposed oak "ships beams" which are around 500 years old and display the hand hewn grooves, joints and pegging of their original use.
It is situated on the "Coast to Coast" cycle route and a short drive to the hills, Lake Ullswater and the amenities of Penrith and Keswick.
