About this property

Spacious 3 Bedroom Ocean Front Condo With Easy Beach Access

Beautiful oceanfront condominium located at the edge of the spectacular and historic Bloody Point (site of ferocious battles between Native Americans and British Soldiers in the early 1700s) is a destination vacation spot. A two-sided balcony overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and resort pool provides the perfect environment to soak up the beach atmosphere.

Daufuskie Island is a place you can truly relax. The island sits between Hilton Head and Tybee Island (both visible from the Sandy Lane beach). While on Daufuskie Island you will want to explore the historical part of the island visit local artisans, or just enjoy the beautiful beach with the white sand.

While exploring the island you will want to visit the Silverdew Winery and the Bloody Point Lighthouse Museum and Gift Shop. The tiny and historic Silver Dew Winery is located in an unassuming building that dates all the way back to 1883. The building was originally constructed as what was known back then as a "wick house". Wick houses were used as a place to store oil, wicks, and even the lamp for the nearby Bloody Point Lighthouse. Join us for wine tastings and a stroll through the vineyard. Wine is available for purchase at our nearby Bloody Point Lighthouse Gift Shop.

The local artisans on the island include the Iron Fish Gallery where American-made, award winning metal sculptor Chase Allen specializes in handcrafting coastal fish, mermaid, crab, sea turtle, lobster, and stingray sculptures from his studio gallery; Daufuskie Soap Co. is dedicated to bringing the spirit of Daufuskie Island to you in the form of the finest bath and body products. Their handcrafted soaps and body products are made in-house in small batches. Daufuskie Soap Co. offers a truly authentic, artisanal indulgence; A visit to the Daufuskie Blues studio includes a real-life, schoolbook lesson about the history of indigo and about preserving the historical techniques and skills that can bring out the magic of this amazingly beautiful blue color! Once dyed, indigo is so colorfast that it can last for centuries. The front room of the old two-room schoolhouse is where you will encounter hand-dyed textiles (scarves, napkins, hand towels, shirts) made with organic indigo and other natural colors only available on Daufuskie; Daufuskie Wine & Woodworks is located on the north end of the island next to Freeport Marina. The woodworking shop builds wooden kayaks, surfboards, canoes, and paddleboards. The quaint wine shop operates out of an attached building where many wines and craft beers are curated, and where you can also enjoy organic, sustainable, and low production wines from vineyards throughout the area.

You will also want to check out the two local restaurants, Old Daufuskie Crab Co. (located next to the public dock) or D'fuskies store and eatery. School Grounds Coffee is a casual cafe on the island offering customers a selection of distinctive roasts.

The villa's large resort-like pool is another amenity your family will enjoy. Provided are lounge chairs and an area for grilling.

Your destination vacation begins with a trip across Calibogue Sound via public ferryboat or private water taxi.

IMPORTANT: DAUFUSKIE ISLAND HAS NO BRIDGE, AND IT IS NECESSARY TO TAKE A FERRY OR WATER TAXI TO GET HERE. YOU WILL LEAVE YOUR CAR ON THE MAINLAND AND USE A GOLF CART TO GET AROUND THE ISLAND.

Currently the cost of ferry and land transportation is about $86 person.

Beautiful condo with a gorgeous view!
Our 1st trip to Daufuskie and will not be the last, as long as this rental is available! Things were as pictured. Provided towels batch & beach, nice quality sheets, bedding/ pillows, they even have a nice basket of fluffy blankets in family area for lounging, kitchen is nicely equipped (perhaps need an additional large pot for cooking mac-n-cheese), foil/ plastic wrap provided, starter of coffee and sugar but bring more, nice beach chairs and umbrella (loved the tent, too) provided fun game, Tidal Ball, for beach. Don't forget to bring refillable bottles or yeti cups for beach drinks and a beach sized cooler and ice packs. Fridge has nice ice maker! We made it over with eggs in our cooler- no problem! Don't forget sodas- restaurant was out of diet coke! Also, think about spices and produce- a little hard to find at Island. Owner was so nice and quick to respond. We rented golf cart from Daufuskie Island- the greatest!! (Rent in advance!) Saturday arrivals at 2pm and departures at 11:30 need to be made very quickly. (Ferry was very accomodating and followed up when we were put on a wait list for 1 person to be added to 11:30 depart so we were together) Everyone was so nice and helpful. We enjoyed the wildlife (starfish, sand dollars, sting rays, sharks, dolphins, deer, black squirrels, gators, raccoons and even the fat armadillo). Truly an unforgettable vacation and we can't wait to come back!

Beautiful stay
Relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings. Condo was very much as advertised and convenient to most things on island. It is important to remember to bring almost everything you will need during your visit because the few shops on island are very limited in offerings and have limited hours.

Dream Getaway
We chose this location for our honeymoon and it couldn't have been more perfect. The condo is very spacious and the views from the balcony are breathtaking. We loved sitting on the balcony with our coffee watching the sunrise. The beach is close enough to hear it clearly from inside the condo and is just a short walk away. The property owners were very accommodating and were easily accessible when needed. The second floor location is also great because you don't have to be dependent on the elevator. The bedrooms are spacious and each have their own bathrooms. The kitchen has all necessary appliances for preparing any meal. There are also two gas grills outside that were surprisingly clean and easy to use. The island is very private giving you the feeling of seclusion which made for a very relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely return to this location again and would highly recommend it.

A unique beach experience
Vacationing on Daufuskie Island was a unique beach experience. The relaxed slow pace and low population of the island was a welcome relief to the business of everyday life. Exploring the island on the included golf cart was one of the unique elements of this stay; the island topography is beautiful. The condo was spacious and filled with natural light. The ocean view was the highlight and were the beautiful dunes. Gary and Kristen were very helpful in preparing us for our stay. They were responsive to our questions, both prior to and during our time on Daufuskie.
