Renting here was an adventure…
…And not a good adventure! I’ll start with that. It started with a very late check in, which Denise was aware of. My friends and I arrive at midnight for a long snowmobile weekend. We park in front and there’s a vehicle in the driveway and light on in the unit - which is a single wide mobile home by the way. I go to walk in, as that’s the check in process, but the door is locked. Moments later, a dog is scratching at the door and someone asks if they can help me. That was unexpected! I call Denise and we determine this guy in my unit is in the wrong one. Clearly he didn’t look at the unit # before unpacking all his stuff earlier that day. So he vacates and moves into the correct unit. Talking with Denise on the phone she says to me “this isn’t my fault you know.” Denise, your check in process is the root cause to the issue that night. If you had a more secure process, this would’ve been avoided. To her credit, she did credit me a cleaning fee. Next, we immediately notice the mobile home is not level and has a pitch toward the back right corner of the kitchen. Not much we can do on that, but it is concerning. Once we bring all our stuff in we begin to clean the unit ourselves. It was disgusting and smelled of mold / mildew. The hot air unit was also not working and only the gas stove in the LR area was working. So the far end of the unit was freezing. Fortunately we were able to rectify that. Hanging out in the LR area, a mouse could be seen poking in and out from the side of the refrigerator several times during the trip. Fortunately we weren’t staying long enough to care about that. The list goes on and on, but I feel this is enough. My friends and I joke about the multitude of issues of this place. We do 1 or 2 rentals per year for sled trips and this is by far the worst one in the last 8 years. It only gets 2 stars because of the proximity to all that Greenville has to offer. Otherwise the unit itself is a 1 star. We will not rent here again. Renter beware!
