Driftwood Cottage: Memorable Family Beach House with a Coastal View. Whether it’s your first time at the beach, or if you are a regular visitor, Driftwood Beach House is waiting for you to come and enjoy all that the Outer Banks has to offer. Located right in Kitty Hawk, this handsome beach house with four bedrooms and three full baths, is the perfect family getaway. Ideally, this home would be most comfortable for one large family or two smaller families and can accommodate up to 10 people.
The space
This house is in a prime location for those most valuable young family members that need a short walk to the beach. Driftwood offers direct beach access! After a very short stroll (literally only about 125 steps), you will be walking on the beach and soaking up the sunshine for the day. The outdoor shower is perfect for rinsing off sandy toes when returning from the beach.
While at Driftwood, at least once, get up early and view stunning sunrises from the upper deck with a hot cup of coffee. The deck is a great place to relax in the evening after a good meal as you enjoy the evening ocean views, the breeze, and good conversations.
The main entry has a keyless entry and opens to the lower level of the house. This level of the house has three bedrooms and two full bathrooms; one bedroom has a queen sized bed w/Roku TV, one bedroom has a double bed with a workstation, and one room with 2 sets of bunk beds. Bed linens are included! There is also a laundry room with access to a washer and dryer. At the end of the hallway, you will find stairs that will lead you up to the main/upper level of the house. The upstairs kitchen/dining room & living room is open concept with plenty of seating to relax with the entire family and boasts a large 65” Roku TV. Lastly, you will find the primary bedroom with a queen bed, Roku TV and ensuite bathroom. There is High-Speed Internet Access so the family can stay connected during their vacation. Around the house you will also find a few children’s books and games for the family to enjoy.
The kitchen is brand new fully stocked with every appliance you may need to cook meals including a dish washer (because who wants to do dishes on vacation!). A propane grill is also available. If you are in no mood to cook, try out some delicious restaurants in the area such as the Outer Banks Brewing Station, Black Pelican, Art’s Place, and Henry’s Diner. There are several other great restaurants in the area as well. There are close by grocery stores (like Harris Teeter or Publix) and numerous souvenir stores. But if there is one thing you should do on your vacation, it’s to sit back and relax.
The house is well stocked, comfortable, and very conducive for a multi-generation vacation. You’re not going to want to leave!
Places to Visit: Holy Cow Creamery (it’s incredibly good!), Jockey Ridge Park (the dunes are a must!), Lost Treasure Mini Golf, Duck Donuts, Duck boardwalk, the piers, go see the wild horses in Corolla, Dolphin watch, or take the ferry for a ride to Ocracoke Island. If it rains, check out the Aquarium, laser tag, bowling, the movies, or pull out those family board games.
Guest access
You will have full access to the home both inside and out with exception to the owners closet in the upstairs bedroom and the outdoor storage room. Enjoy the large backyard to play some of your favorite yard games such as giant Jenga and cornhole! A propane grill and limited beach amenities (chairs and umbrellas) are also available for your use.
