Cozy and comfortable for family
The place was very clean and well maintained. We felt the place was. Better than how it looks in the photos. Bed was very comfortable and have a lot of space for family and friends. Pretty close to center of the town. We really liked the place. However there is some scope of improvement specially the place need a dishwasher. The microwave is pretty small and need upgrade.. Also, as another family mentioned in their comment, the knife need to be changed. They are not sharp. Apart from this everything else was great and we look forward to stay here again in future

Great Location: Left a lot unexpected
First, the owners have excellent communication. Two of the 5 split unit heaters weren’t working despite multiple attempts and following the directions and they immediately jumped to fix this issue. And their maintenance man, was fantastic. Second the house is historic and very cute. The decor is excellent, you can tell they care about how it looks. Absolutely beautiful and comfortable. The property said it shared two walls, but it shares two walls and another unit upstairs which was unexpected making three. The kitchen has a lot of utensils and items to use, but unfortunately the knives were very dull and the manual can openers did not work. We booked this house to white snow and finalize a business partnership and the internet was promised to be fast, but it kept going in an out every 7-10 minutes. This could be weather related, but it meant we couldn’t take the conference call we needed to take.

Fantastic
Our stay was fantastic. We had a total of 9 people, 5 kids and 4 adults. The unit is spacious and well decorated. It didn’t feel crowded even with 9 people. Location was great as well.

We are Christian and Holly, your hosts at Taylor Homes. We live in Redding and spend much of our time in Mt Shasta & McCloud with our two daughters. We love our Northern California gateway to explore the mountains, rivers and lakes in our beautiful outdoor areas. We value sharing our beautiful community with you, our guests.

Why they chose this property

This property was built as a ski lodge in the 1950's. The lodge had a bar, restaurant and accommodations and was the most popular spot to go after a day of skiing on Mt Shasta! We love this area in Mt Shasta - specifically its central location and access to both Mt Shasta City, the mountain, as well as an abundance of trails, gardens and parks. It has been such a fun process taking this historic lodge and renovating it back to its former glory.

What makes this property unique

The moment we saw this property we knew this could be an incredible vacation rental. The views are absolutely stunning, the unique and rare pecky cedar sided lodge, wood beams and posts throughout the suites, the spaciousness of the suites, and the rustic details. We took the original - restored the historic components and updated all finishings to make your stay comfortable and cozy. Come enjoy this rare, historic lodge on the outskirts of Mt Shasta City!
