Serious safety and privacy concerns
My family and I rented this condo for 3 nights. Late on the 3rd night, the locked front door opened and a giant dog walked into our living room and started growling, snarling, and staring down my 72 year-old mother. We were all in complete shock. A few seconds later the owner entered. He insinuated that we shouldn’t be there and he continued to allow his unrestrained dog to threaten my mother. I stood up and wanted to act, but I was terrified that I might cause this aggressive dog to maul my mother. He finally restrained his dog, but only after we demanded he do so. He spent the next 30 seconds fumbling around on his phone and making rambling excuses for his serious mistake and his threatening behavior, and then he finally left.
We immediately told property management about this, and they told us that the owner is a judge, and he’s a nice person, and the dog has never hurt anyone. They said he has a live camera in the condo (not disclosed) but he must have forgotten to check it. We made it clear to property management how dangerous and illegal the owner’s actions were and we demanded a full refund. They said the best they could do is refund our final night, but even then they only gave us what amounted to a 8% refund.
My family’s experience with this owner and the condo’s property management was completely unacceptable. He owes us a full refund and a direct apology.
