Patriots Retreat is a quiet home designed to inspire you. The home is designed with American themes, in a very comfortable setting. The home has a large deck for outdoor eating and the stars shine very bright at night. The home is in a very peaceful setting and all of the interior is inspiring, positive and patriotic. We have been Super Hosts for over 6 years with 2 other Cabins: Sunrise Mtn Cabin & Sunrise Mtn Treehouse Cabin. Super view of the mountains which you will have from all of our cabin properties. Visit and enjoy.

Awesome place

I’m a man of few words, but it only takes a few to describe this place. The host was very friendly and accommodating. The house was very clean and well taken care of. The view is one you can usually only dream of. We loved it and will be coming back soon.

The house is very warm and welcoming. Has everything you can think of that you might need. Would recommend to anyone going to a concert at the Caverns.

House with a VIEW!

We enjoyed our 5 night stay at Patriot's Retreat. We were originally scheduled to move to Sunrise Mountain Cabin (also owned by Kim and David), but they allowed us to stay in this unit because construction was going on next door to their cabin. The views were beautiful. Area was so peaceful. In the middle of nowhere, on the top of a ridge. Rarely heard any noise except the birds, the insects, and the breeze in the trees. Lots to do and explore on the property and nearby state parks and other outdoor areas. We enjoyed looking at the night sky and all the stars each night from the nice porches. Loved having a full bathroom upstairs and another full bathroom downstairs. (Bedrooms were upstairs.) Kitchen had everything necessary for cooking. Kids (and adults) would love the Marvel theming of the home. Also lots of patriotic, military (Navy), and NASA-related decorations. Pictures are accurate. Hope to come back to enjoy the hiking, the views, the peace and quiet, and the surrounding areas soon!

My wife Kim served 22 years as a Chief Petite officer in the Navy. Kim served in the aviation side of the Navy on large transport planes, such as, C9 and C-130. Kim was one of the first female load masters in the Navy.

My name is David, I was a Consultant to ExxonMobil for 36 years. I worked in a number of upstream projects, such as, drilling, gas plant operations, pipeline installations, commissioning FPSO (Floating, Production, Storage & Offloading) vessels internationally.

My wife and I have traveled the world and have seen many places the average American will never visit, which has been why we love our country so much and the freedoms it has afforded us. We hope you will enjoy your stay with us. If there is anything you need please feel free to call us.

Why they chose this property

We have transformed this home to our Patriot's Retreat by using motivational pictures, posters, flags representing our military, but also exemplifying American Exceptionalism in many other areas. The living room has a gas log fireplace to add warmth to the room on the upcoming cool fall nights. We have 2 full size bathrooms upstairs and downstairs for your convenience. Plenty of space for two couples with two separate bedrooms. We believe you will really enjoy the decor of the home, which we hope will uplift your spirits.

What makes this property unique

You will have full access to the entire home along with the 3-plus acres surrounding it. We have also built a deck on the cliff edge with a beautiful view of the valley below. You also have access to a room we built a couple of years ago we call the "Storm Room." It will provide you with another view of the valley, but it also has pictures on the wall of different seasonal views of the property. It could be a quiet place to read a book or just take a nap in one of our comfortable chairs. We also have an outhouse close by with a flush toilet and sink with hot and cold water. Behind the house there is a 2 mile trail we encourage you explore.

We have provided coffee and a coffee maker along with the condiments. This home also has a large refrigerator and freezer for your use. In addition, Patriot's Retreat is our only rental that has an automatic dishwasher. Of course you have a washer and dryer in the utility room just off the kitchen.

If you like to hike we have state parks within 10-12 miles of Patriot's Retreat. On those trails many of them have water falls and all provide breath-taking scenery. There are beginner to intermediate hiking trails in the immediate area. Fall Creek Falls is approximately 40 minutes from Patriot's Retreat. If you are a golfer Fall Creek Falls I believe was rated the 2nd best pubic course in Tennessee.

In summary, shop for your food for your stay in advance and bring your hiking boots, so you can enjoy the great outdoors whether you decided to hike one of the state park trails or stay on your back deck and enjoy the wooded valley below. Please visit us soon.
