About this property

Unique 3.5 bedroom, 3 bath condo just 5 min. from Beaver Creek and 10 min. to Vail. Top floor, wood fireplace, master bed with enSuite and patio with views out to national forest, second bedroom with double bed and futon, open plan living/dining/kitchen, spacious front deck, parking; upstairs - third bedroom with double bed and sleeper sofa, and loft/study with two single beds (designed to allow group to relax and enjoy watching TV), and desk/work area. This has been my home for 10 years, I know that you will enjoy it as your home base for mountain activities. NOTE: condo is 3 flights of stairs up (45 steps), no elevator - "heart healthy," with ski/board/boot storage on ground level. Your pets (max. 2) are welcome, and you will encounter evidence of mine (my Australian Sheppard likes to leave her toys for four legged visitors to enjoy).

Great location and responsive host!

This was the perfect spot to be able to ski Beaver Creek and visit with friends staying in the village. Those stairs aren’t for the faint of heart but the house was very cozy and we enjoyed our stay!

Beware of pet allergens and dated condo

I wanted to like this house but it turned out to be a major disappointment. My teenage son started to have strong allergy reactions 10min in the condo. We realized there are pets hair everywhere, on the couch, the sofa, the throw pillows… The worst is in the bed. Pet hair is clearly visible on the black sheet in the master bed. There is a shelf with pet food and trays right between the dining table and the kitchen counter. I immediately asked the owner for permission to move the pet stuff outside and requested thorough cleaning the next day. She got back to me with Yes for moving the pet stuff but claimed the cleaner had been there before. Seeing my son suffering so much I took him to stay at a Comfort Inn for the night for $300. I understand I should be aware that the house is pet friendly but we have stayed at pet friendly house before and never had an issue when the pet is not there. The next day we tried to use the very inefficient vacuum there, a pet hair brush and lint roller we bought to remove as much as possible but still not enough. My son still couldn’t stay in the house for long. We end up spending other $800 for him to stay in a hotel for three more nights. The condo itself is dated. The beds in the second room and upstairs are small and the sofas are small. The kitchen vent is scarily noisy. There was no extra trash bag and toilet paper. The owner was not very responsive to questions we had to figure things out ourselves which I don’t have space to list.

Would not recommend

The first issue was that the listing had the top loft mentioning twin beds. What it did not say was that it was actually more like a long couch that extended the length of two twin beds. Two grown adults do not want to sleep foot to foot touching each other. In addition the loft upstairs is just a sliding door to the room. The full bed in the loft feels broken in the middle. All towels were just hanging as if already used. They honestly seemed to be a mix of washed and not washed upon arrival. In addition, there was only one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom when we were staying for a week. For some reason building workers stopped by on a random day when only one female was in the house without any notice to guests. The house smelled of smoke and weed upon first entering. Luckily after the first few days the smell was tolerable. Occasionally in the Livingroom rug area you could smell dog pee. This place is not really set up as a rental for other guests. The beds didn't have mattress protectors and the sheets had dog fur all over upon arrival.
