Wild Rose Farm
Charming, large, historic house (earliest part 1806) with upscale kitchen and attached barn/entertainment space. Pleasant, helpful managers.

Great farmhouse, close to Portland
We loved our trip to Falmouth and greater Portland area! The farmhouse was very clean, has a lot of charm, and had plenty of extra linens/towels. We fit 4 adults and 4 kids with no problem. The only thing we were not prepared for was the lack of air conditioning in the downstairs: kitchen, dining room, living room or barn rec room, which is the only place there is a tv. There were window units in the bedrooms so sleeping was comfortable. John was a responsive host as well.

Great house with lots of space
We stayed as a group of guys looking to explore Portland. The location was great - very close to main roads taking you into Portland and convenient grocery shopping. There is a finished barn-like structure that is a great area to hang out - pool table, pinball, tv/couches. Beds were comfortable and host was responsive and we had no issues. I will say the host could make it more clear that they live on the premises. We were very surprised to see the host family (with kids) in a house fully attached to the one in which we were staying, and connected by a door that does not lock. For groups looking for a location with privacy, that may be a concern. It ended up not being an issue for us as we were mostly out and about.

I am from Ireland and my wife is from Baltimore. We have two children and a west highland terrier whom you will probably meet on the grounds while you are here. We live on site, and while our guests live in a separate space, we do enjoy meeting them if they wish and helping them if they encounter any issues on their stay.

Why they chose this property

While it is a private house in a quite area, we love that in 10 minutes you can be: 1. Sitting downtown in an awesome restaurant in Portland 2. Sitting at a beach in the east end 3. On an awesome mountain trail 4. Playing a round of golf 5 And a million other things! Come visit and see all that Maine has to offer!

What makes this property unique

This house may be the oldest house in Falmouth, and has been owned by more than one member of congress back in the day. Today it is our home that we love sharing with our guests while they enjoy all the fun Maines four seasons brings!
