Tidy home with a nice backyard
We stayed for a week as a family of 6 (2 adults, a teenager, two school aged kids and a baby) and the house fit us just fine. The back yard is very large, and we played a lot back there.
The house is a good distance between the town of Dennisport (.4 miles) and the beach (.5 miles). Closer to the beach would be too far from town, and closer to town would be too far to the beach. Other than to go out to dinner (once) or to the grocery store (three times) we didn't drive all week. We found the house comparatively affordable, so I didn't cook but once or twice. Take out every night!
There's a little park on Inman road which is nice for the kids (swings, monkey bars). One thing our host didn't mention is that there is Harwich Town Conservation land about a mile up Depot Street, surrounding an estuary. Maybe it was the time of year, but the jogging up there was perfect. Great weather, no bugs, trails had some ups and downs but nothing very challenging.
Obviously, it's not a Ritz Carlton type experience. But I feel closer to my family after staying there, and everyone was sad when it was time to leave. A classic Cape Cod summer adventure for the kids, with not too much heavy lifting for the parents.
