Great location for Pirates or Steelers games
I would highly recommend this house if you’re going to a Pirates or Steelers game as you can walk to the stadiums. The house itself is very comfortable and has everything you would need and Caroline was a great host and very responsive to a couple minor issues that came up. I will mention that if there is a helicopter landing or taking off at the hospital next door, it is really loud. Other than that, I would highly recommend this house.

Quaint House, Eclectic Neighborhood
My wife and I along with my brother and his wife came to Pittsburgh for a long week end to attend a concert at Acrisure Stadium. The home we stayed in was very clean and well appointed. The owner was very responsive to my inquiries. The location is walking distance to the stadium as well as the downtown area. We walked everywhere while staying. The diversity of the neighborhood is unique, which we enjoyed. High quality restaurants and pubs are in the surrounding area. The only drawback was a hospital that is in the area. The hospital has a helicopter landing pad which had the helicopter coming and going on a frequent basis. The noise of the copter landing and taking off was loud at times. That was mostly during the daylight hours. Overall our stay was enjoyable and the home was comfortable and a nice place to stay.

I'm from a small rural town about 90 minutes away from the city and I've called Pittsburgh my home for the past 22 years. Growing up in a small community makes me appreciate Pittsburgh's "big little" city vibe. Not only for the sporting events, but history and culture can be found around every corner—-from East Allegheny (Deutschtown) to the North Shore and The Strip District to Mt. Washington—there is something for everyone.

I have been hosting since August 2022 and I have found creating an inviting, warm and relaxing space for our guests to enjoy is so rewarding. Comfy and cozy are my favorite adjectives. —-I'm just a little obsessed about it.

My husband and I are parents to an 12 year old hockey player we adore and most weekends we are cheering him on at his games. Yoga is my therapy, I "attempt" playing the piano, and wine and conversation make me happy.

We certainly want to travel someday to one of those beautiful places listed on airbnb vs cold hockey rinks—but for now its fun thinking about it.

Happy Traveling my friends—Cheers!

Why they chose this property

Close to many attractions which includes The Children’s Museum, Carnegie Science Center, The Andy Warhol Museum, The National Aviary, Rivers Casino, Acrisure Stadium, PNC Park, coffee shops (Starbucks is two blocks away), local eateries, pubs, and restaurants. The property is also right across from Allegheny General Hospital making visiting the hospital easier and more frequent in order for family members to provide support and stay updated on the patient’s progress without long commutes. Although many properties are being revitalized near the house, it’s an up and coming neighborhood as you can see by the recent renovation of the Garden Theatre. North Side neighborhoods have historic charm and feature beautifully preserved Victorian homes reflecting Pittsburgh’s rich industrial past and is home to several iconic cultural institutions attracting visitors from around the world. When you add the fact that Acrisure Stadium, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers and PNC Park where the Pirates play is within walking distance when staying in the North Side it makes it clear why we decided to buy properties in this area. Allegheny Commons Park, one of the oldest parks in Pittsburgh, offers green spaces and trails for relaxation and outdoor activities. Additionally, the proximity to the Three Rivers Heritage Trail along the rivers provides scenic pathways for walking, running and biking. As stated ongoing revitalization efforts have transformed former industrial areas into mixed-use developments, adding modern amenities while preserving the area’s historical character. Overall, the NorthSide of Pittsburgh combines history, culture, recreation and community spirit, making it a uniquely special part of the city.

What makes this property unique

Convenience with the ability to bring the entire family. A home away from home feel. A big dining room table allows for family dinners or game night. Another huge factor is parking. In Northside parking can be troublesome. We guarantee a space in our private parking lot directly where your enter the house. If more parking is needed we have that covered as well. Allegheny General Hospital is directly across the street. Our guests can conveniently park their second or third vehicle in the hospital’s garage. This house has three well appointed bedrooms. Two of our bedrooms are equipped with king mattresses. A king bed provides ample space for individuals or couples offering extra room to spread out and move comfortably during sleep. Also, if little travelers are in tow there is extra room for cuddling. Our double bed can fit two and has a super comfy pillow top on a new mattress. Two of the three bedrooms have 45 inch TVs if you want to stream a good movie after a long day experiencing the city. The three bathrooms allow our guests to maintain privacy and avoid wait times especially in the mornings. The kitchen in the house is spacious making it easier and more enjoyable for families and groups to cook together and contributes to a feeling of a home away from home. Have a glass of wine while sitting at the pub table and watch the chef of the group work their magic. The living room is bright and cherry and as a side note the frame that holds the large Pittsburgh sign was hand-crafted by my father-in-law as we couldn’t find a frame (within our budget) to house this large print.
