Aug 2024 Week
Dog-friendly house with good privacy between upstairs and downstairs living areas. Good natural light in the home. Enjoyed sitting out on the deck. Kitchen is clean and has all the basics, but is a bit awkward to cook in with the range shoved in the corner. Difficult to design a functional kitchen with all of the angular walls in the house.

Couldn’t pay me to stay here again
Not even sure where to start. I guess I will start with saying that this home is overrun by spiders and flies. There were so many flies that you could not even eat or have an open water cup because it was immediately ruined by bugs. Next, this home is MUCH smaller than the photos let on. 2 of the bedrooms are on main floor including the “master bedroom” and both are so small that there is barely room to walk next to bed, let alone open the door. The other 2 rooms are in the BASEMENT with concrete floor and spiders galore. There are 2 bathrooms which were both extremely dirty and the showers were hard to operate. The downstairs bathroom had no mirror and the ceiling tiles were rotting away with mold from water damage. The outdoor grill looked nice but only half of it worked and the yard was unkept and the view was not pleasant. There was NO TV on main floor which I found odd. The owners only leave you with one single paper towel roll, one single trash bag, NO SOAP, no detergent, no coffee, honestly there was nothing but bare minimum. Last of all, the owner uses a third party to handle all communication so it is nearly impossible to have any issues resolved. Upon arriving to airport for return flight my wife and I realized we had left 2 belongings and reached out immediately and offered to pay for return shipping. Owner did not respond for 3 days just to lie and say they never found the items. Overall a horrible stay. You could not pay me to stay here again.

Great location
The house was small, but worked for two families. There is no water access that we could find and no partial water views. Otherwise the location is great with close proximity to Wellfleet beaches and ponds. Regarding the home amenities, there is only a TV on the lower floor. The AC air handler is in the closet of a lower level bedroom. The kitchen was not as fully stocked as would be typical of other rentals. We needed to buy coffee filters, salt and pepper, extra detergent and paper products. Overall everything was manageable and the bright and airy ‘treehouse’ provided a great home base for the week.

Beautiful setting, renovations lovely, but management company impossible to reach
The property location was lovely and the setting peaceful. However, the house did not deliver all that was advertised. Vacasa was impossible to deal with. They are based on a call center, people very friendly, but the company was completely unresponsive. I spend many hours on hold on the phone and then eventually would be on hold for 10 minutes trying to reach a supervisor. Initially they had given the wrong wifi password and the support was horrible. Eventually, I was able to convince then to get in touch with the local management to clarify. That took 2 days of no wi fi. The grill was totally inoperable and rotted out. The coffee pot, altho it worked as also corroded, the toaster was a fire hazard. Eventually 3 days before I checked out someone claim, declared the grill in operable and replaced the coffee maker and toaster. The house had been renovated but clearly lacked any care, many windows did not open. It had the feel of a hotel but without a front desk. Unfortunately I will never rent this property or through Vacas again. I was supposed to get some compensation of the grilll etc, but that has never happened despite the number of "tickets' that were issued. Unfortuanlty too much of my time, when I was on vacation was spend on hold and dealing the Vacasa.

Will be amazing after a little AC maintenance
Overall, we very much enjoyed this house. The common spaces are lovely, the deck is great, the kitchen is well stocked, and we appreciated all the hooks in the upstairs bathroom. I was concerned ahead of arriving about being able to hear the highway noise, but it turned out it was a very quiet, beautiful location. Yes, the bedrooms are small, but who needs a big bedroom when you're on the Cape. The point is to do all the amazing stuff on the Cape outside of the house! :) The main problem with the house is the central AC. To get it cool upstairs means it's freezing downstairs, esp when temp is above 85F outside (which isn't that often on the Cape, to be fair). I understand why - it's because there are lovely windows upstairs which add a lot of solar heat. The other AC problem is one of the downstairs bedrooms has the AC in a closet, and it's super loud. Not sure anything can be done about that. There were a few other minor maintenance issues, but I would assume these will be addressed promptly by Vacasa. Overall, positive experience. I hope they can address the AC issues, then it would be truly 5 stars.

Wonderful stay
We loved the house. It’s small but as everything you need. Nice kitchen two bathrooms, 4 bedrooms… one bedroom downstairs is very noise when the A/C is on so just plan accordingly. It’s close to downtown Wellfleet and a short drive to a boat launch great for kayaking.
