About this property

Unique 2 Bedroom Vrbo with Amazing Rooftop Deck & Firepit Area. Near Stillwater!

Welcome to Bayport Haven - our historic wood workshop-turned-Vrbo, nestled within the beautifully restored walls of a 19th-century factory in the quaint town of Bayport. Originally built in 1874, this building holds a rich history as a hub for crafting horse team tack used to skid timber from the nearby St. Croix River forestry.

Step into our upper apartment, where modern comfort meets rustic charm. The second-floor entry leads you to a cozy living area, bed, bathroom, and kitchen adorned with rustic touches and offering tree-level views.

Ascend to our rooftop deck where a gas firepit beckons you to unwind under the stars. With ample seating nestled in the trees, it's the perfect spot to enjoy a quiet evening or gather with friends.

For dining options, you're within walking distance of several local restaurants that showcase the best flavors of Bayport including top-tier Italian, French, and BBQ cuisine within a block away. Should you crave more excitement, a short 5-minute drive takes you to downtown Stillwater, a charming destination filled with amazing shops, restaurants, and a variety of activities. Discover trails for hiking and biking, or explore the picturesque St. Croix River, just blocks away, where a stunning park and beach await for swimming and leisurely strolls.

Whether you're seeking a historic retreat steeped in local heritage or a convenient base for exploring the scenic beauty of Stillwater, our unique Vrbo offers a unique blend of past and present, ensuring a memorable stay for all guests.

Important Notes:

- Please be aware that there is an unfinished wood workshop space within the building

Incomplete
While the property had all the amenities listed and pictured, the actual property needs some additional notes. Interior logistics for anyone sleeping downstairs we thought was not as safe as it should be. Lighting was adequate but the interior stairways are a bit steep and difficult. We initially thought that the second bedroom was just down the steps from the kitchen area steps and disappointed to find we needed to go through the wood shop. Funky but comfortable. We thought the finishes were great in the main kitchen and living room but overall suggest continuing to maintain all current listing features in workable order and strive to complete additional amenities. We see a great future for the property

Girls’ weekend wrecked at the Tree House
A friend and I took our teenage daughters for a weekend of spa service, shopping & good food. The Tree House was available, cute, & claimed to sleep 4. I’ve been using VRBO for years & haven’t ever had a problem with check in or check out. William; the owner, had checked in with me a couple times to see when I’d be arriving. I told him I wasn’t sure, but I’d text when we were on our way.I did so, & he said he’d leave the “paperwork” for me.When we arrived I checked my app & email for instructions on parking & where to get in. There was nothing. We tried multiple doors before finding the steps & a door with a lockbox. I double checked my app, no code, no directions, no key. We sat on the deck waiting for a text from William, until one point we heard some papers shuffling, we hoped there would be a code. NO CODE. There were rules for the house, & there was a number for a manager. I text the manager & about a half hour later she text indicating she was on her way with a key in an hour. Now sweaty, starving and already having missed our dinner reservation we decided to go find some food. When we returned the unlit yard was tricky to navigate, but The key waiting for us! We walked in, but couldn’t find the 2nd bdrm. We finally realized we needed to go into this SCARY, DARK UNFINISHED work area with only motion lights to get to the 2nd bdrm. There are NO PICTURES of this on VRBO. It was so unsettling all 4 of us slept on the daybed/trundle. $428, & he offered wine & a $50 voucher.
