There are certainly Pros and Cons with each property. I'll start with the positives first. The location is ideal very close to the heart of Ocho Rios, but still situated in a very safe subdivision. The layout of the property was nice with three bedrooms each with its own bathroom. The fixtures were very new and modern. It was tastefully decorated and the appliances worked well. The volume in the neighborhood was perfect and it was relatively quiet and other guests were respectful. Some of the cons can and should be worked out over time. A key item was there was no AC in the living/kitchen/dining area. This was indeed a surprise and a challenge. The owners did supply us with circulating fans and the ceiling fan in the living room area also did not keep a decent speed. The other alternative was propping open the bedroom doors to allow some of the cooler air into the open spaces. We did share this information with the host. The second major con was the "solar" water heater. We did have significant days of sunshine (hence the warmer temps inside the home) however, cool showers each night for the kids and my elderly mother was not a great way to end each day. The final con was only having a washing machine. We did have to hang our clothes, but with the pop up rainstorm we had to start from scratch and do a second load. A minor con was just running low on dishwashing liquid and not having enough towels for our family (good thing we brought some of our own just in case).
