About this property

A peaceful and romantic architectural gem (Dripping Springs - Austin)

This rare, one-of-a-kind Casita is tucked away in a grove of trees on 6 acres in the Texas Hill Country between Austin (25 minutes to downtown) and Dripping Springs (10 minutes away). We live on the property, but you can be assured that the casita feels secluded and private. It was designed and built by a talented craftsman with high attention to detail, design and comfort.

The overall feel is cozy and spacious, luxurious and comfortable. The #1 comment when visitors experience our place is the wonderful natural light that fills every room with its wall-to-wall French doors and large windows. There are vaulted ceilings, pecan wood flooring & custom cabinetry through-out. Designed with imported vintage rugs and a fine art collection of painting and photography make the space inviting. Furnishings of ornate antique imports, simple rustic and mid-century modern make for an eclectic environment.
The living room has a comfortable couch and wall inset 40” HDTV with cable. There is a nice stereo with CD and DVD player. We can make the couch out as a bed if needed to accommodate a third person.
The bedroom is very romantic, with an organic Naturepedic king sized bed. The bedroom overlooks the countryside from private french doors, which has direct access to a hot tub spa under the oak trees. If you have a third person, we have a very comfortable couch in the living room. There is a walk-in closet with shelving and hanging space for your convenience. We provide soft robes for you.
The bathroom shower is glass tiled with a door inside the shower to the outdoors so you can have an indoor/outdoor shower experience on a nice day or evening. The bath countertops are marble. You will be bathing with filtered rain-water.
The porch is the full length of the house and overlooks a large field of trees and wild grass. This is the perfect spot to watch the sunset, bird watch, and star gaze. There is a nice gas grill and an outdoor fire-pit (can only be used when the county burn ban is not in force).
This is a perfect place if you want a peaceful getaway, but don’t want to be too far from Austin or Dripping Springs or many other central Texas Hill Country locations. It is close to area wineries, distilleries, breweries, wedding venues and outdoor exploring. This is a great retreat for writing, reading, cooking, bird watching or simply enjoying country living. Want a day in the city? You are only 20 minutes away. Want a day to get away from the city? This place is it.

Austin Wedding
My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at the Casita. It was quiet and the host was very responsive during our stay. The area has so many cute towns close by and we enjoyed a recommended bakery in the area during our stay. I would love to come visit again and explore more. The Casita has all the amenities and was a perfect place for our trip.

Beautiful Home - very clean and well stocked.
Very nice and extremely well designed home. New appliances and the entire home was well stocked / supplied for a great stay. Very comfortable bedding. We enjoyed complete privacy and great country views. The carport is a plus. If anything, the property description understates what you'll find upon visiting. We hope to enjoy the home again one day.
