About this property

05 Barnacle Hill Cabin | 1 Bed, 1 Bath

This one room rustic cabin that has a small living/dining area, kitchen, bathroom and shower. There is no electricity in the cabin but all appliances (oven and refrigerator) and lights are powered via propane. There are 2 beds. One queen mattress and a full size sleeper sofa. Outside the windows from where you sit to drink your coffee, display a wonderful view of the Strait. Inside, snuggle in and enjoy the beautiful glowing flames and warmth of the propane fire stove. Relax on the beach or bring your boat for some of the best fishing and crabbing in the Pacific NW.

Whiskey Creek Beach NW has exquisite views of the Straight of Juan De Fuca. The Codfish Cottage cabin is situated only a few feet from the beautiful pebble beach with unobstructed views of the Canadian Cascades.

Located just 25 minutes outside Port Angeles, our guests can enjoy the serenity and beauty of the Olympic Peninsula with easy access to town and some of the best hiking, hunting, fishing and exploring you will ever find. There is so much to do in and around the Olympic National Forest, so take your time and enjoy your stay!

Nearby Olympic National Park entrances like the Sol Duc, Hurricane Ridge, Hoh Rain Forest, Cape Flattery make this location an excellent "base camp" from which you can explore the Olympic Peninsula and towns like Forks, Neah Bay and beaches like Shi Shi Beach and Hobuck Beach. Explore the parks, walk the rivers (Dungeness, Elwha and many more), kayak on Lake Crescent or drop right in the Strait from our private boat ramp. During the Winter and Fall, enjoy the true nature of the Pacific Northwest: observe the high tides, storm surges and occasional dense marine fog from the comfort of your cozy cabin. You are going to love this place!

** Strict Pet Policy: Please inform me upon booking that you would like to bring a pet. We allow 1 pet 25lbs and under. You will need to pay the pet fee in the office upon arrival. Fee ranges by breed. (starting at $10 a night for non-shedding, smaller pets if you bring bedding for your bed). To save a large portion of the pet fee, please bring along your own bedding (blankets and pillows) for your beds. Please keep pets off all furniture. Keep pets on a leash when out in the campground. Keep them under control and clean up after them.

Would do it again
Great location as listed, the Barnacle Hill hut had all the essentials you'd expect of a hotel room. Water was always hot, room comfortable temp. Only thing would be better is screen's on the window's and a screen door so you can keep air flowing through at night without bugs.

Lovely, Perfect, Rustic, Private Peak Experience
This cabin was the surprise hit of our entire trip. I am not exaggerating when I say it will be one of our all time favorite life experiences. The beautiful location, the privacy, and the ocean views out the huge picture windows are what made this stay a pinnacle experience. The rustic nature of the cabin with its distressed wood, fireplace heater, and kerosene lamp made us feel like we had stepped out of real life for a time and could truly relax and unplug. Yet it still had enough modern conveniences to keep us comfortable such as a gas stove and oven, French press, provided coffee grounds and cream & sugar, cooking utensils and dishes, wifi, and outlets to charge our phones. They even provided cooking oil and shampoo in the shower! The instant water heater worked very well and you could have very hot water as long as you wanted. The living area was very comfortable and we definitely took advantage of the extra blankets on those chilly ocean nights. We did have to close the curtains on all but the ocean-facing windows due to this building being in a complex/resort. But once the curtains were shut you could have complete privacy. The only things that were not clear from the listing were that there are no rooms; it’s all one big room like a studio apartment would be. The other thing we misunderstood from the listing was the distance to the water. We thought this cabin was right on the water but it was actually up the hill about 40 yards. Overall an amazing experience!!!

We stayed at the Barnacle Hill. Rustic excellence. Like the view and non electric features and also appreciate the electric lamps as backup. This is close to the Discovery Trail. We rode from the cabin to the Spruce Railroad

Fantastic little house about 10 feet from the water. Unobstructed views from the wall of windows which look out at the ocean. Definitely what my spouse and I needed after being cooped up at home.

Absolutely Perfect
No, literally— it’s perfect. It’s better than glamping. You know that 10 hour YouTube video you play of ocean sounds to sleep? That’s this place but it’s right outside the window: you can smell it. I put my phone on airplane mode for 72 hours and just stared out the windows. Phenomenal. Guess how many emails I read. That’s right, not a single one. Email doesn’t even exist here. The cabin itself has everything; you might think, “oh it’s rustic” but you’ll still be able to charge your phone, shower, have coffee, electric lights, heat, cook whatever you want. You will want for nothing. There’s a little book that lists local restaurants if you’re into that, but I’d recommend just bringing groceries and cooking things yourself. Nearby hiking spots are very good and easy for even the most inexperienced hikers. The hosts are wonderful, they keep in touch, and leave nothing unprepared.

Scenic getaway close to Mt Olympic National Park
My husband and I are not disappointed that we happened upon this gem on VRBO. WOW! Absolutely fantastic stay. Our main goal was to see as much of Olympic National park as possible in 3 full days, and this property was in a GREAT location for that. On top of that, what a wonderful place to come back to after full days of hiking and sightseeing. The mornings at the cabin were spent tidal pooling right outside our cabin, and evenings were spent watching the most gorgeous sunsets. Book this property now, you will not regret it!

Seaside cabin w amazing view
We had a great stay at the Jasper Inn Cabin. Tim was very easy to communicate with and stayed in touch throughout our time there to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our vacation. We saw bald eagles swoop past the shore and a curious sea otter inspecting the humans from the wave break. We really enjoyed our rustic and very charming little cabin by the sea.

Amazing view, everything you need for a quiet escape. We didn't want to leave. We received a couple emails from the owner while we were there, asking if we needed anything additional and ensuring we had a comfortable stay. We will absolutely be returning in the future.

Amazing View and Lodging in a Wild North Coast Setting
From a newer, delightfully well-maintained and appointed "tiny house" about 100 feet off the water, we had a breathtaking, unobstructed, almost-180-degree view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca teeming with sea- and wildlife. There was always something to marvel at through several wide, nearly floor-to-ceiling windows: otters plied the kelp beds just off shore, cormorants congregated on floating logs, eagles swooped from their nearby nest and wheeled above the beach in front of our cabin. We also appreciated the profound quiet and absence of television/connectivity. (They will have WiFi soon, But it was nice to stay "unplugged" for several days.) The hosts reached out several times to make sure we were comfortable; in fact, they went out of their way to get us a cabin with electricity (needed for medical equipment) after I accidentally booked one online without. The lodging we stayed in was really nicely decorated and stocked with quality linens and cookware. A wonderful experience. We will be back again and again!

Beautiful, Quaint Cabin on the Water
My partner and I stayed 2 nights in the Barnacle Hill cabin and it was absolutely gorgeous. My partner lives in Seattle and I live in Wisconsin so this was a special, romantic getaway for the two of us. Having it at Whiskey Creek Beach NW was perfect; the cabin was decorated so beautifully and it was fully stocked with all of our kitchen needs. The cabin does not have electricity but the candlelight and kerosene lamps provided a perfect, romantic atmosphere. The views of the water were breathtaking and we liked that our cabin was a little further away from other cabins. The fireplace provided the cherry on top for a cozy weekend together. The second night we used the fire pit to grill steaks. We brought along our own steel grate and it fit perfectly over the fire. Firewood was in the main office for purchase. It was a little chilly but sitting together by the campfire was so relaxing. The bed was perfectly positioned by the windows so we could cuddle up, drink coffee, and stare out at the beautiful sights in the morning. I would say the cabin is perfect for a pair or even 1 traveler. Being so close to everything in Olympic National Park so it was the perfect spot for us as we kayaked and hiked during the time we were there. The cabin was super cozy and the perfect place to unplug and enjoy time spent with someone you care about. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a nice, romantic getaway with stunning views!
