About this property

Private Beach on Lake Michigan

Nothing will beat a sunset at Camelot!

Although just minutes from the bustle of Holland’s major attractions, restaurants and shopping, the moment you arrive at Camelot, a sense of calm takes over.

Camelot is the place to delight in simple, summer memories. Building sand castles and taking a plunge in Lake Michigan, relaxing on the private beach. Feeling content exhaustion from playing all day in the surf. Relaxing with sunset cocktails on the deck. Then … fall asleep (and wake up) to the gentle sound of waves. Perfect for family time or entertaining.

Camelot has a full kitchen, outdoor grill area, large dining table, living room with futon, a large deck that stretches from the cottage to the bluff. Upstairs are two bedrooms with full-sized beds and a front bedroom which includes a set of bunk-beds, two more full-sized beds and single. There is an additional single bed and pull out futon on the main floor. A full bathroom is on the main floor as well. Front screened porch with a swing for good napping and watching the waves.

Pets are always welcome at Camelot. Linens and towels are NOT provided. Only 50 steps between the bluff and the private beach.

Exquisite vacation spot!
This place has an authentic cottage feel. We absolutely love the history in the cottage. All the wood made it very cozy like you’re at your own family cottage. Beds are comfy, view is spectacular, the outdoor shower, a plus. The farmers market in Holland on Saturday was an amazing, fun experience. If you’re there on a Saturday, it’s a must! we had an amazing vacation!

What a GEM! We loved our week here. The cottage had so much character and felt so homey. You can't beat the deck overlooking Lake Michigan, the beautiful sunsets, and the perfect lake breeze. Beds were very comfortable and loved the glider on the screened in porch. We will definitely be back!

Relaxing place to getaway and extend the summer
Loved being right on the beach. Everything about the house was just as described and worked out great. It's a vintage lakeshore cottage. Cozy and homey. There were no pictures of the bathroom listed but it was updated and nice. The bedrooms upstairs are all open above the walls which is great for ventilation and cool breezes. Noise from each room wasn't a problem due to the waves from lake Michigan providing a natural sound machine.

Loved Camelot!
We were happy that the stairs had been repaired and access was available to the private beach which we enjoyed immensely! The upstairs has two bedrooms with full size beds and another large bedroom with a bunkbed, a twin bed, and two full-size beds. Lots of room to sleep! Plus downstairs there was a daybed and a futon that could be for sleeping. There were different areas to eat in dining room, 3-season porch, or deck with picnic table. We loved the outside shower and charcoal grill, and water toys. ☺️

A gem on the lake
This was our 4th stay at Camelot. We did miss the beach access, but everything else was just as we remembered: a very cozy, comfortable spot to relax and watch amazing sunsets on the deck. We always appreciate the dog friendliness too.

The views from the front deck of this cottage were exceptional. The breeze off Lake Michigan was cooling and refreshing even in the heat of August.

Amazing view
Property had a lot of character and was very homey. The view was amazing. Sad to see the shores erosion but thats nature. The host responded very quickly to my questions and even checked in after a storm. I would rent again just based on the view alone. Also had plenty of essentials to start with and games.

a timeless vacation
this stay brought me right back to my childhood; there is something timeless and romantic about this cottage and the space the owners have created. falling asleep to the waves, sipping morning coffee to the expansive lakeshore view, sleeping in the loft, grilling, the sunsets, even the rainstorms - you forget about the world. the cottage is spotless, the owners were great with communication, and the home welcomes you in as if you belong. we cant wait to come back - hopefullly, every year!

Spectacular sunsets on Lake Michigan
The lake cottage was exactly what we were looking for, that old school rustic charm with a great outdoor space. The sunsets were spectacular and there was plenty of outdoor space on the cliff overlooking the lake for all of our guests to enjoy together. The location was conveniently located between several great beaches and parks, although some were closed do to severe erosion over the winter months and ongoing maintenance activities. The lack of HVAC made the nights cold but comfortable for sleeping since we brought plenty of blankets and the days were very comfortable with plenty of shade trees and open windows to keep things cool. We all had a wonderful time!

Beautiful! Perfect for family get away.
Beautiful sandy beach. Location was perfect. Beautiful sunsets. Perfect spot to unwind with family. Reason for this vacation was to bring my family together. Can’t think of a better place to unwind, every night we would sit on the deck and have great conversation while watching the sunset.

Everything at Camelot....priceless!
From the communication to the cottage, everything about the experience is priceless! We've been coming to Holland for decades and due to a demo on a past rental had to find something new and found Camelot a few years ago and have been coming since. Wouldn't dream about leaving now. The privacy, space, amenities and hospitality make Camelot ideal and it's perfectly situated between downtown Holland, Grand Haven....I just can't say enough how great it is. If you haven't considered...you should, we're sure glad we did! Already looking forward to next summer!

It’s like having your own piece of heaven. The view is spectacular and sunsets are breathtaking. The simple charm of the cottage places you back in time when life wasn’t so rushed. I recommend it for anyone who is looking to unwind and appreciate nature at its best.

We loved it!
Being lake front was amazing listening to the waves, going to the beach and of course sunsets. The house had everything we needed even had beach supplies. The only problem we had was using the extension ladder to get to the beach after all the stairs. A couple people in our group were older and had a hard time with the ladder. Would definitely go back

This is our family cottage now on the 3rd generation. I grew up running down the beach and swimming in the lake and now my kids are doing the same.

Why they chose this property

This is one of the few properties that truly has a private beach directly on the property that is affordable for all.
