This serene vacation rental home is on Sunset Lake in Destiny West, an exclusive gated community with fabulous amenities including a pool, hot tub, fitness center and more! Destiny West is a beautiful community with mature palms, landscaping, and cobblestone streets. This neighborhood, with a gated entrance on Scenic 98 feels like it's a secluded tropical paradise, but you are within minutes of a wide selection of amazing dining options, shopping, and entertainment.

This home, "Worth The Wait" offers a comfortable floor plan, with the master bedroom and bath separated from the other bedrooms by a large cook's kitchen and eating area. This eating area, as well as the living room, master bedroom and guest room overlook the lake. Step out onto the enormous deck to take in the beauty of Destin's legendary sunsets! This home even comes with 4 complimentary bikes with helmets so you can explore Destin easily in style!

All the beds have comfortable foam mattresses that sleep like a dream. Each bedroom has an LCD TV, Netflix, and ample closet and drawer space. The large light-filled master bedroom is your retreat, with its glorious view of the lake through palm trees that afford privacy! The master also has a CD/DVD/Stereo System, two comfortable lounge chairs and a private master bath with jetted garden tub and walk-in shower. Enjoy the large deck that spans the entire back of the house and a dock directly on the lake. Dine or just relax as you listen to the fountain in the middle of the lake and the palms swaying in the breeze.

Also enjoy easy access to walking trails overlooking the Gulf, and James Lee Park with its covered picnic areas that have grills, easy dune walkovers, restrooms, and showers. Bring a picnic lunch or leave your towels and beach chairs on the sand while you enjoy casual beachside dining or the open air beach bar at The Crab Trap, where appetizers and cool drinks make watching the sunset over the Gulf a memorable experience.

This home was amazing, great location and very nice.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home is in a safe secure gated community. The house is beautiful and spacious. You have lots of deck space a great view of the lake.

Cockroaches

GOOD: This was our first time in destin and we loved the clear blue water and white sand beaches The location and gated community were amazing- the property managers were great and very responsive The pool was heated and was a highlight for our kids- we were close enough to walk from the house to the pool to the beach and back. We enjoyed biking (4 bikes come with the house) along scenic hwy 98 and stopping at the little shops- frozen dunes ice cream and boba tea was a hit! MEDIOCRE: nothing here that was terrible- really just needs some TLC and sprucing up The carpet was stained some cabinet doors stuck and were hard to open because the bumpers were old and sticky The back deck and especially the little dock was in really bad shape- screws sticking up and lots of loose boards- the metal outdoor table legs were rusted off at the bottom leaving sharp edges and a wobbly table Garbage pullout drawer under kitchen sink was shot- the slides were rickety and the garbage can wanted to fall out when you opened it. Some dead bugs in pots in the cabinets BAD: The house has 2inch long cockroaches staying there We saw 8 during our 9 day stay. 1 in garage 1 on master bedroom wall 1 crawling on my wife’s face in bed in the middle of the night 1 in the dining room 2 in the small living room 1 in the main living room 1 by the front door The one in bed was our last night- we didn’t get much sleep after that. Cockroaches are unacceptable IMO

Owner refused to leave property.

Even though I was provided the door code to check in, we were called less than 24 hrs prior to checkin that the owner was refusing to leave the property and we needed to be moved somewhere else. 0 out of 10....do not recommend this property.

Great Location

Our family loved the property! We will stay again. Only few things that was a bother that the property didn’t have up to date beach items, the bikes were locked with no combination, certain areas were not dusted or cleaned well, there were strings of hair on the couch in the living room and master shower wall and the pool key did not work for the pool. You need a code instead of a key. Some people had to let us in. Also, I wish there was more cleaning supplies available such as a mop or broom in case of spills etc. Overall it was a great stay.
