Wonderful Property, with real character
Jane was great, was in constant contact with us, starting when we couldn't find the place because it's very well sheltered and tucked nicely in the countryside. The house is great, downstairs bedroom is amazing with the wet room shower. Upstairs the bedroom is quirky with a quirkier roll top bath. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again and again. Everyone will have small niggles but nothing which wasn't handled by Jane.

Great place for kids
Lovely weather, great terrace for outdoor living, and garden safe and enclosed for our children, and dog. Very light, and no blackout curtains. Great open plan living, and I've never seen such a well equipped kitchen - it has everything for baking and cooking and entertaining - even 2 fridges and 2 freezers. Wetroom and dressing room downstairs were a treat. Thank you a good stay

Lovely, remote place to stay
We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Prestwick Oak. It's not hard to find as there is only one road leading to the place but one has to watch out for the driveway. The owner is very friendly and was immediately on the spot if we had some issues. The house is really neat and furnished in style. Everything's as clean and tidy and functional as needed - of course it's to be noticed that it's the owner's regular home (as stated in the house's "manual") when not hosting guests. The living room is cosy, the terrace is a wonderful place for some relaxed breakfast on a sunny morning. The whole property is a bit remote so shopping trips to Haslemere should be done by car. We had a walk into town on our first day and one way took us about an hour along the streets (just for consideration as the streets are very narrow, in both directions and there's not really a sidewalk). The whole countryside of the South Downs is absolutely fantastic. Trips to Portsmouth and London were easily to be arranged as Haslemere lies quite in the middle (Portsmouth by car, London by National Express from Hindhead). We absolutely recommend this place and would have liked to stay even longer. Greetings from Germany. Nick, Klemens, Jamy and Johanna

Tranquil rural retreat. Quirky but contemporary. What a wonderful place
I don't know what the previous review is on about. The previous clearly have zero taste. This is THE most wonderful place, and in NO way dangerous!! Our two children loved it. Extremely safe, and very well equipped, with all the cooking/baking kit, 2 fridges, 2 freezers. When we arrived it was very clean, all white and gleaming. We went to the beach at Wittering which was about 45 minutes away, and it was easy to get to London by train from Haslemere. We loved the place, and the owner, who is more than helpful. Lovely holiday. Thank you very much.

Not recommended - Dirty home in a very poor state of repair
I wouldn't recommend a stay in this property - the photos, description and testimonials posted bore very little resemblance to the property we stayed in this June. We had originally booked to stay 8 nights as a family (2 small children) but we found it so dirty and in such a neglected state of repairs that we moved out at the earliest opportunity and found alternative accommodation for the rest of our holiday. Specific issues we saw include: - Really poor level of cleanliness with animal hairs all over the downstairs bedding and furniture, dirty floors and bathrooms throughout and the oven, microwave, grill and BBQ had not been cleaned. In the case of the microwave I could see what the last person to use it had eaten as bits of food had been left inside from a previous meal. - We found used cups and cutlery left in the dishwasher when we arrived, and even dishes taken straight out of the cupboards had to be re-washed as they had been put away with dried food crusted on - Dangerous maintenance e.g. bars supposed to protect against the drop from Mezzanine floor had not been fixed, so they could be dislodged easily (and were by a toddler), opening up a dangerous 10ft+ drop onto a tiled floor below - Railing on downstairs steps was so loose that any weight put on it moved both the attached stairs and the kitchen floor - Practically every single wardrobe door in the downstairs bedroom was off its hinge, there were handles missing from cupboards in all rooms and a kick board had fallen off in kitchen and was left broken on the floor - Unable to use the oven without use of a torch as the temperature gauge and functions could not be read (backlight gone and not replaced). Torch provided by owner (!) - Taps in downstairs and upstairs bathrooms so loose they're almost breaking off - Practical limitations upstairs such as no useable bedroom curtains, no door on the bathroom/toilet and nowhere to hang clothes as the wardrobe was already full of belongings just left there - And more sadly... I contacted the owner a few times during our short stay to let her know of our issues, unfortunately she refused to take any action and denied that there were any problems. I can see now from other reviews that we're not the only ones to have had issues; it's just a shame for me that these reviews were posted after I'd already booked so I missed them. Hopefully anyone looking now has a clearer picture of this property.

"FANTASTIC RURAL LOCATION. TERRACE AND OUTDOORS WITH LOVELY VIEWS"

We arrived from South Africa tired, and moved into this quirky, but very contemporary open-plan space. Everything was white and clean, with all mod cons.

The kids love the flatscreen TVs in every room, and the open-plan, split level kitchen, breakfast and sitting room spanning oak doors to the terrace was wonderful.

When we arrived it was very welcoming, warm and ordered. The cream sheets on the bed in the master bedroom, crisp and lovely. There are two fridges, and two freezers which was very helpful, and all the food mixers and pots and pans you could possibly need.

A very very enjoyable stay, and the owner couldn't have been more helpful.

Thanks very much for our first three weeks back in the UK, before we moved into our own home.
