Nicely appointed small townhouse with public transport to London
My wife and I spent the first three nights of our UK driving tour at Lola and Dot's small townhouse. Lola and Dot were kind and attentive hosts who met us at the property on the day we arrived and saw us off on the day we left. There are good places to eat nearby including The Atlantic for a nice fish and chips and The Five Rivers for an Indian meal. The cashier at a local CostCutter was friendly and helpful to us each evening we stopped in.
To see central London, public transportation on bus and train is easy to use, but it will take about an hour to get to the city center. No need for a rental car. We turned ours in after the first night since it was going to sit unused while we stayed at Alabama Place.
The townhouse gave us a great sense of what life was like in a century or so past. It was updated with modern appliances, but still gave us a small living feel that we don't experience in the US. It was a charming way to start our journey. Thanks so much to Lola and Dot!
