COVID-19 INFORMATION & SAFETY

We’re Sanitizing Even What You Don't See
The check-in time of our cabins will be extended to allow us to use our new equipment to air out each cabin between guests and sanitize what you see and don't see.

Whatever Comes Next, We're Thinking About It Today
We’re closely monitoring the NY State Governor’s guidance. Our operations will undoubtedly change and we appreciate your patience and consideration in advance.

Our Expectations of Guests
Taking Care
We are a small family business simply trying to navigate what the new normal is while also trying to maintain the health of our guests and ourselves. We expect that our guests have taken great care and precaution, as we have, to self-quarantine and social distance. We know the Adirondacks is beloved to many which is why we’re opening our doors in a limited way. We will welcome guests who have self-quarantined prior to arrival for 14 days and who are feeling well and healthy. We expect our guests to be honest - that they have not come into contact with anyone that has had active COVID-19. Our cabins host 8 or fewer people. Only one cabin will be rented to each party. We will disallow congregating in groups of more than 10. This restriction may ease later in the summer. If you do not feel you can meet these expectations, please cancel your reservation.

FAQ
Do I need to wear a face covering?  Face coverings must be worn when in public areas such as the WiFI porch, in our local grocery stores, etc. We will wear them as well. A face mask can be purchased from us.
*****
Can I check in early or have a late departure?  We are sorry we can not honor any early arrivals or late departures this season. For guests who launch a boat off-property on their day of arrival, you may park your car and boat trailer at the top of our property - to arrange permission for this, please contact us 24 hours in advance of your arrival. For guests without a boat, we highly recommend you make your travel arrangements in conjunction with an outdoor activity along the way to allow you to abide by our later check-in. If you’d like, we can contact you when your cabin is available.

*****
Are the lakes “open”?  Yes, lakes are “open”. From Kiwassa Lake (where you’ll be), you may travel to several lakes and into the Village of Saranac Lake. If you’d like to travel to Lower Saranac Lake, you may go through the Lower Locks (manual system available until they open later this year; for current status, contact the NYS DEC.

*****

*****
Can I rent a bicycle? Please contact Human Power Planet Earth bike shop.  Reservations are required.
*****
Are area restaurants and shops open?  Yes, many restaurants are doing take-out in Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. Guests should not expect a normal dining experience but should instead enjoy the tranquility of our cabin and property. Most shops are operating at reduced capacity, though and require a face covering.

Cozy stay
Hospitality was great, cabin was great, some construction going on at time. Advised after that we could’ve moved cabins. Wish there were more trails nearby to adventure. But kayaking and camping the area was perfect! Enjoyed our stay overall!

Great time at rustic cabin
The time we spent at the cabin was fun, but it wasn’t the cleanest place to stay. And the. electric outlet behind the sink was not up yo code at all, an electric power cord should never be used in a faulty outlet

Perfect Cabin for Unwinding
This cabin was exactly what we were looking for. The vintage feel of the place and solitude was like going back to a simpler time. Very laid back, highly recommend.

Great ADK visit!
My girlfriend, our dog and I had a great time at this property. We kayaked, fished, played board and card games, went into Saranac Lake, traveled around the ADKs, went swimming, cliff jumping (split rock falls) and really connected with each other. This was a huge trip for our relationship and I greatly appreciate the host providing exactly what we needed.

Vintage charm, great location, comfortable stay
We loved our stay at this cozy vintage cabin! The cabin location right on the water with private dock was perfect for use of our SUPs and for fishing. Occasionally a motor boat would go by the dock a tad fast, but overall there was much less boat traffic than I expected which was great for our SUP use and general enjoyment of the quiet. (Of note, we were only there on weekdays, so it may be weekends are busier.) The cabin itself is vintage style but comfortable with warm shower, large fridge, basic kitchen supplies. Be sure to bring headlamps or flashlights for outdoors. Despite hot weather, the shady location and ceiling fan were sufficient to keep the space cool. It was too hot for us to require heat, but the wood stove and propane heater look very sufficient. Fire wood is available for purchase on site. There are no outdoor campfires permitted but there is a small Weber grill that we didn’t use. There is a short walk down a well maintained path to the cabin which should be noted. We loved being in an isolated location, while close to town where we could also enjoy restaurants! The price felt a little too high considering you are required to bring your own bedding and clean the cabin on departure, but as a last minute booking we were thrilled this was available and overall the stay exceeded expectations!

We own several properties in the area and this cabin is one of our favorites. We have lived in the Adirondacks since 1991 but have been part-time residents since the 1960s. We even attended the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid! We can offer suggestions for activities unless you simply want to rest and relax in a cabin.

Why they chose this property

This is the most scenic area in the east! It is an easy place to rest, relax and enjoy life at a slower pace. Kiwassa Lake is an idyllic and quiet lake and most guests return year after year to get away from the hustle and bustle of a faster pace.

The cabin offers a wonderful deck with seating that allows guests to put their feet up, read a book and soak up the view of the lake.

Often guests will take in a sighting of our lake loon and its beautiful calls. Other guests have said they have seen eagles, deer, fish jumping, wild types of birds, etc…

What makes this property unique

Our property is a dream come true. While there , guests enjoy bird watching, reading and traveling by boat to the nearby Village of Saranac Lake. Often guests will take in a sighting of the lake's loon and its beautiful calls. Other guests have said they have seen eagles, deer, fish jumping, wild types of birds, etc…
