I booked this apartment with Stayz and the property is managed by Aron of Northern Beaches Holiday Rentals. I booked to stay for the 4 days over Easter. 2 days before check in Aron called to say the property was getting new floors and won’t have any furniture or flooring. He emailed two alternatives that were in the area but not of the same quality or with the same level of ammenities.
Comparing rates the properties offered were both advertised at a cheaper rate than what we had initially booked but at no point did Aron offer to compensate the difference.
Aron sent check in instructions via email the day before that said check in is available from 1:00pm. We arrived at the replacement property at 1:30pm to be greeted by assumably the owner of the property who told us we were early and check in is after 2pm.
The replacement property had no air conditioning, was very dirty and in a very poor state of repair. All glass wear and crockery was very dirty. House stunk of mould and there was very thick dust throughout the property.
The location and vista of the house were the redeeming qualities.
The experience was already disappointing enough at this point but now Aron has iced the cake. As per the terms and conditions the return of security deposit is due 10 days after you vacate your holiday rental. At day 15 I reached out to Aron as the bond has not been returned. 3 emails, 2 calls and 1 text message later and not a word from Aron. It’s now 3 weeks and no word from Aron.
