About this property

Koch Ranch - Camp House

Brand new ranch house built to blend the convenience of modern construction with the rustic charm of a rural home. Great weekend retreat for a small family or friends with quick access to Columbus. You'll love spending time on the front porch! The new ranch house has one bedroom with a queen bed plus a sleeping loft for kids, couch, and sleeping recliner. Full kitchen and bath with a gas stove. Fire pit, corn hole, washers, horse shoe pit, and BBQ pit available outside. There is an older bunk house connected to the cabin that has 6 more beds which is included in the rental. The bunk house has a wood burning stove for heat and window unit A/C. We only rent this house to one group at a time, so you won't have anyone else staying out there. We are 40 miles from Round Top.

Come stay in our recently remodeled family homestead that was built in the 1880’s. It’s a relaxing getaway on a true Texas cattle ranch that has been operated by our family for well over 100 years.

We have another rental house listed as "Koch Ranch - Hester House" which is located next door. Many guests rent both houses. They are far enough apart where each house has privacy from each other, but groups are close enough to enjoy their stay together.

Pluses and minuses
The property was clean and adequate for our purposes, with on exception. The outside temps were in the thirties and the bunkhouse only had two inadequate space heaters for heat. Suggest something more adequate be provided during the colder weather months.

Thanksgiving
The property was super clean. This is the second time we rent this property and is great! Perfect if you are looking for something a little rustic. We spend most of our time outside in front of the fireplace on the rocking chairs. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for peace and quite.

My wife and I try to stay at our family ranch every weekend with our kids and friends. We absolutely love it out there! However, we decided to share with others when we can't make it out to the country. We like to do a lot of traveling ourselves, and we're always looking for unique interesting places to stay just like our little ranch house. We sure hope you enjoy the stay.

Why they chose this property

Our family property has been a continuous cattle and rice producing ranch for over 115 years. We try our best to continue our family heritage in every way that we can.

What makes this property unique

Piece and quiet and very bright stars! Just relax and enjoy the front porch with a warm cup of coffee.
