This was a beautiful house in a gorgeous village!

This was a beautiful house in a great location in a very beautiful village. It was quiet and very dark at night - even though it is very close to the village square and restaurants. Comfortable and well appointed house. The rooftop terrace was very special day and night. Sebastia was a terrific host. Very responsive and welcoming. Love to come back soon!

Lovely house and roof terrace

We booked the house as an extra for family joining us in Fornalutx. It is in a great place very close to the centre. The two bathrooms were a big bonus and the roof terrace has amazing views and a lovely place to sit out in the evenings. It is very clean and well equipped with a kitchen having all you could need. The towels and bedding provided are excellent quality. We would use the house again and hopefully we will! Sebastia has been very kind and helpful and it was great to meet him. Air conditioning units in the bedrooms would be the only suggestion as it was up to 40c during our stay and sleeping was a bit difficult at times.

I recommend

Perfect located, fine house with great owner senior Sebastia! My note is 9 (max 10). If next year will be a/c and mosquito nets- will be revelation.

Nice House in the Village

Lovely propeety over 3 levels. 5 mins max to the village square, slight incline on way back for older people. Terrace on top offers amazing views, too hot to use July & August though, Nice at night. Air con being fitted soon which wil make a huge difference. All in, lovely house, communication with the owner Sebastia was very good & we will stay again.

Family house not ideal for two couples

Very generous welcome pack and well stocked property. Good living area and roof terrace - only way to get sun as property is quite dark inside though nicely cool during hot periods. Customers should be aware that there is a steep hill to property. Second twin bedroom is very simple and basic compared to main bedroom with en-suite. Second bedroom has access only to basement shower room where shower is faulty with poor pressure.

A Tramuntana Mountain Home

Modernised within, this characterful property is comfortable with a well appointed kitchen and a roof terrace with glorious village and mountain views and from where the sky at night, crystal clear because of the villages minimal light pollution, is a joy to behold. We were greeted by the very friendly approachable owner who speaks excellent English and who had us with a table full of delicious local fruit, local snacks, and with a kitchen which had all the ‘basics’ there - such as cruet, olive oil, and fresh water, etc. The spiral staircase to the roof terrace feels dodgy at first so eating up there is a team effort but its so well worth it. Parking has to be at a distance for practical reasons but our host helped us with cases and showed us where we could park. Will we go again? Yes please! - as long as the exchange rate doesn’t get any worse!

A great base for hiking in the mountains

If you want to get away from the crowds on the beach and head to where the air is thin and the silence is deafening, then this is a fine place to stay, right in the heart of the picturesque village of Fornalutx. The house itself is a 3 storey building with a roof terrace reached by a small spiral staircase. It has a well equipped kitchen and is tastefully decorated thoughout. The WiFi, essential for planning routes and getting the latest news and information works really well. Free parking is available in a car park dedicated to apartment users located opposite the restaurant Calzone in the high street, about 200 meters from the house. This includes 20 meters of cobbled street with a steep incline leading to the front entrance, that needs to be negotiated whenever a trip to the village square is required, and when checking in and out with suitcases, so be prepared for this. Sabastia (our host) met us with a warm welcome, and was anxious that we should contact him with any requests or concerns at any time - communication was never a problem. We were also treated to a complementary bowl of fruit and other provisions which meant there was something for breakfast the morning after having arrived at 10:00pm the night before. Being within 5 minutes walk of virtually every restaurant and shop (including chemist, bakery and grocery store) in the village is great. For hiking, there are several marked routes that pass through the village, taking you to nearby Soller, or up into the spectacular mountains surrounding the village. A fantastic place to stay.

Lovely, spacious property with wonderful roof terrace in pretty village

We enjoyed two wonderful weeks in this property in the pretty village of Fornalutz. Booking was easy and our host, Sebastia, was easily contactable for any questions. Sebastia met us on arrival and showed us around and gave us his contact details if we had any queries throughout our stay. The house was spacious and well equipped but we most enjoyed sitting out on the roof terrace where we could look around at 360 degree mountain scenery and watch the moon come up in the warmth of the Mallorcan evening temperatures. Fornalutz has enough good restaurants to eat out and the pretty village square with its cafés and bars was a fun place to sit with a drink and watch the world go by. The excellent grocery store and bakery ensured we could easily get supplies when we needed them just a short walk from the house. As hikers, this area is paradise for excellent walking in the mountains or even just down to Soller or along the coast. Soller is only 10 mins away in the car and is a much bigger centre to shop - you can park for free along the side of the main road and walk in. We have not enjoyed a holiday quite so much in a long time - it had the perfect components of warm sunshine, lovely accommodation, charming village, great access to places and wonderful walking. As previous comments have said, you do have a hike up a short hill to get to the property but it's worth it for the peace and quiet. Will definitely be back and would certainly stay in this property again. Thank you Sebastia for being an excellent host.

so gehen entspannte Ferien

das Haus liegt etwas erhöht über dem hübschen Örtchen Fornalutx. Von der Dachterrasse genießt man einen tollen Ausblick über das Dorf und die umliegenden Berge. Das Haus ist wie geschaffen für einen entspannten Urlaub auf Mallorca. In ca. 2min ist man schon mitten im Dorfkern. Es gibt dort mehrere Kneipen und Tapasbars. Es geht herrlich entspannt dort zu, es ist aber nie langweilig. In der Zeit Anfang September findet ein mehrtägigs Dorffest statt, da ist dann richtig was los. Spätestens im Haus merkt man dann nichts mehr davon. Es ist sehr ruhig und doch ist man fast mitten drin. Im Haus findet man alles, was man zum Leben braucht. Es ist sehr sauber und ordentlich. Wir haben uns auf Anhieb wohl gefühlt.

Gepflegtes Stadthaus mit toller Dachterrasse

Das Stadthaus ist gepflegt, gut ausgestattet und bietet Platz für 4 Personen. Die Shlüsselübergabe mit Sebastia hat ausgezeichnet geklappt, ein prall gefüllter Obstkorb stand bereit und auch Spüli, Tabs, Küchenrolle und Toilettenpapier waren Vorort. Ein kleiner Lebensmittelmarkt sowie ein Bäcker sind zu Fuß prima zu erreichen und keine 500m entfernt. In Fornalutx gibt es auch einige schöne Restaurants mit typischer Landesküche und fantastischen Ausblick. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und empfehlen das Stadthaus gerne weiter.

Wonderful base in Fornalutx

All wonderful as advertised, and well looked after by Sebastia, the property owner. Highly recommended as a base for walks, scenic drives, and even visiting Palma, only 40min away.

Great place for a great vacation

The old townhouse is located near the central plaza of Fornalutx (just a three minute walk to the central plaza with a shop for everyday needs, bakery, cafés and restaurants), but still far enough away to be a perfect place to relax. With two bedrooms it offers enough room for four people (we were two adults with two children). The kitchen is well equipped - the question is if you really want to use it, with all the perfect restaurants just a short walk away. Our favorite restaurant was Es Turó at the opposite side of the town, but still just 5 minutes away by foot. Fornalutx is best for holidays with a mixture of swimming (10-15 minute drive to the beach of Port de Sóller), hiking (two minute drive to Biniaraix, 15 Minute drive to Cubér) and trail-running (no drive necessary). With Sebastiá as host there is always information at hand - if necessary. All the time we felt very well cared for and booking and contact was very uncomplicated. Best place in the evening is of course the roof terrace which offers stunning views on the Tramuntana mountains and a spectacular night sky. We really enjoyed our stay!

Lovely property well maintained

We loved our stay in Fornaluxt the property was fabulous meeting all our needs. Took us a week to get used to the steep incline but after 2weeks we have returned home much fitter, also a bit fatter because of the beautiful bread shop in the village. The village is so well equipped restaurants,bank,shops,farmacier and cafes. Would go back. Sebastian Alcover was there to welcome us and was only a phone call away if there was any problems. He also arranged our hire car plus taxi back to Palma Airport for our departure.

Relaxing break in a beautiful village

Perhaps the 8th stay in this house and as peaceful as ever. Very nice welcome from the new owners and the availability of wifi made the vist more enjoyable. A great base for walking in the hills and to the nearby villages.
