Beautiful property, but be aware..
Liked: * Well appointed, clean, and beautiful home with gorgeous views and gardens * Central location to visit Florence, Arezzo and Sienna * Firm, yet comfortable and spacious beds * Responsive host (Mauro) * Nice neighbor in adjoining home * Charming village below Be aware: * Advertised hot tub is not hot, rather there is a "refreshing cool whirlpool spa" for summertime. * Parking spot (not a garage) is at the top of the hill above the house. A set of 12 very deep (~4ft.) wood and gravel steps lead down to the house. * The bedrooms and bathrooms are on the first floor above the (main) ground floor where the kitchen, dining and living rooms are. * Stairs leading to first floor are uneven, steep and shallow. * The driveway from the main mountain road to the parking spot is gravel and dirt, and rutted with deep washouts that scraped our rental SUV each time we drove in and out * Roosters and/or hunters' gunshots awoke us most mornings This charming, rustic, clean, well-appointed home was a visual delight, and might be perfect for the spry, but we were not as relaxed as desired due to the challenges of the roads, stairs, early morning noise, and not having our desired hot tub to soak in at night after our long days of discovering Tuscany. If we had known about the tub not being heated before it was too late for a refund, we would have chosen elsewhere.

Tuscan heights
A lovely house and the grounds are delightful with abundant lavender and rosemary. The access road is hairpin turns up the mountain but it doesn’t lead to isolation; there’s a house across a narrow alley from the rental that’s shared property and music from downhill houses is very audible at night. The owners were responsive and had great suggestions for things to do in the area. Don’t overlook time in Loro Chiuffena - the town and inhabitants made the trip so much more enjoyable.

Spectacular home, hidden in the hills of Tuscany
We loved our stay in this historical home. Renovated to have some of the comforts we require yet it was obvious the owners preserved as much of this historical home as possible to give you the feel of living in a home hundreds of years old. Within an hours drive of so many cities in Tuscany this central location was key to everywhere we wanted to go. Twenty minutes to the train station and we were quickly moved to further away destinations. If your adventurous and want to get lost in Tuscany and its rolling countryside and many small historical towns this is the place to be. If you just want to relax hit local farm markets and cook at home this is also excellent we did a bit of both. The owners we above and beyond on responding to our many questions. The perfect spot for two couples to relax, be adventurous, and enjoy the wines of Tuscany not to mention the endless dinning opportunities We would highly recommend this trip, important note rent and SUV not a sedan! Thanks Mauro! to you and your wife it was a privilege for us to be allowed to stay in your country home!

10 wundervolle Tage

Great Experience
We spent five weeks in this beautiful traditional Tuscan house, up in the hills. The house is sensitively decorated and you have everything you need. As we were there in a heatwave, the ‘Cool Tub’ as we re-named it was a godsend. Mauro was on hand for any questions and ensured we were settled and happy in our ‘home’. We spent time exploring an area of Tuscany we didn’t know and could easily visit Florence, Siena and the traditional hilltop towns we love, as well as living the local life in Loro Cuiffena. We were regulars at the cafés and shops where we were warmly received. We were even taken home from a local restaurant by the chef to save us getting a taxi! As it was summer, we were able to go to fantastic local concerts and festivals. It really was a great experience.
