10/10 Excellent

A rural gem
We have visited Geltsdale East Wing a number of times over the years and thoroughly enjoy staying at this beautiful property. The apartment has undergone further refurbishment since our last visit, and the new bathrooms are superb. The kitchen is very well appointed for 5/6 guests. We particularly like watching the deer in the mornings from the kitchen/diner windows. The owners David and Julia are very welcoming and friendly. Wetheral station is a short walk from the property for guests arriving by train or wanting to have a car free day out, we all spent a lovely afternoon out in Hexham. A new addition in the village is a fabulous ice cream parlour, not cheap but definitely worth it! As we say every time, we will be back.

Cleanliness Issue
Building and grounds beautiful in a great location, unfortunately the cleanliness was an issue. I would expect a property to be spotless at any time but in the middle of a covid-19 pandemic I would expect extra cleaning. Very disappointing. The listing also said the property had a pool, there was no pool, again, very disappointing.
