About this property

Acorn Lodge Private Riverfront & Trails is an exclusive Retreat & Reunion venue.

Acorn Lodge, Private Riverfront & Trails, is the ideal vacation rental: it is less expensive for groups of five and more than local hotels. And there's no comparing the comfort and environs. Prices are discounted 10% for January & February rentals.

When you rent Acorn Lodge you get the entire house. You're not sharing it with anyone else. And the posted nightly rate includes all of you. It's not a "per person" cost.

We are restricted by a local ordinance which prevents outside amplified music, meaning anything that goes through speakers. Acoustic music, such as guitars around the campfire, is allowed and encouraged.

There is a surcharge for special events, such as movies being made here, television interviews, chef cooking classes, and more.

Acorn Lodge is a unique, comfortable and beautiful home away from home. We are perfect for family reunions, gatherings, meetings, retreats, conferences for business, crafting, yoga, spiritual, study groups, nature walks, canoeing and kayaking, relaxing by the river, winter walks, and many more. Relax in the serenity, peacefulness, and abundant nature. Enjoy the sauna, jetted tub, pool table, piano, 1-1/2 miles of nature trails through 25 acres of woods leading to the river. There are plenty of benches to sit and observe the trees, plants, and wildlife. Kayak & canoe trips can be arranged. Turn on the fireplace at night.

Small, intimate weddings can be arranged. Again, township restrictions prevent us from having outside music such as bands and DJs. Contact us for more details.

We have discovered that groups are coming here for "Forest Bathing." Amazingly, we found that our natural settings of woods and water are exactly what they've been looking for.

There are two types of forests at Acorn Lodge & Trails: the pine forest and the old growth deciduous forest. Acorn trails wind through both of these, and there are chairs and benches scattered throughout at all times of the year. Acorn Lodge & Trails is perfect for Forest Bathing.

Shinrin-Yoku in Japan translates as “forest bathing.” Actually, it’s more like forest basking. It is an ancient approach where you take the time to reconnect with nature by utilizing the five senses that nature provided you with. No hiking, running, or exercising is necessary. A simple walk among the trees, or an afternoon of sitting on the benches in the forest, is all that’s needed. Forest bathing has recently become a highly successful technique used to improve the health of human beings, both physically and mentally.

There is a scientific explanation for the way trees work their magic. Trees produce oxygen. When you are in the trees you are literally standing among some of the highest oxygen producers on earth. Oxygen has been scientifically proven to be “nature’s antibiotic.” Another fact is the presence in trees of plant chemicals called phytoncides—natural oils that are part of a plant’s defense system against bacteria, insects, and fungi. Surprisingly, these substances have an effect on humans, because people who spend time in forests show documented signs of lower blood pressure, lower heart rate, less stress, and a more relaxed attitude all around.

Note: Acorn Lodge is fully cleaned and disinfected following the departure of all guests. This is standard procedure at Acorn Lodge even when the country is not under national health emergency. We routinely receive guest reviews and compliments on how clean the lodge is.

We are a nature preserve. Listen to the birds, frogs, owls, and gentle breezes through the trees. No hunting or fishing helps protect our woodland friends.

A beautiful river walk takes you through the woods, with plenty of benches to relax.

The Perfect Cabin
5 stars is not enough for this beautiful property! The Acorn Lodge offered everything we needed for a successful Halloween Weekend Retreat. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the serene surroundings and the cozy atmosphere of the cabin. The attention to detail and the thoughtfulness put into every aspect of our stay truly made it a memorable and enjoyable experience. A couple of family members walked the trail for some extra excitement. We are already looking forward to our next visit and the opportunity to experience your hospitality once more.
