Region: Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.

Town: Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just outside the village, is a popular but not overcrowded tourist destination. Several beaches, including nearby Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are within easy reach and surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water. Tintagel has several pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a must. For the energetic, the SW Coast Path passes through the village and in both directions it winds its way along the cliffs and down to the water’s edge through the countryside.

A home from home!
Three generations of our family fit very comfortably in Penhallick House and it felt like home right away. The house is very spacious and has everything you need. It's particularly well set up for small children and my 2 year old loved the books and toys! The location is perfect, we loved waking up to see the sea and it's an easy walk into Tintagel and Trebarwith. We'd love to stay again and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking to explore Cornwall.

Slightly disappointed with standards
Great location and the house has lots of potential requiring some updating and modernisation to match that of the kitchen which was ok. The utility room was a mess and the cupboards/drawers need cleaning out completely. We had to wash everything we used for meals/drinks etc. and the BBQ had been left in a disgusting state and took over an hour to clean. The garden furniture was just a pile of rusted chairs and a small wooden picnic table. For a house that accommodates 10 people drying facilities for washing was inadequate. Most of the bedrooms had insufficient furniture for hanging clothes etc. and very much geared for young children. If we had taken children I would not have allowed them in the playroom - fully stocked with toys, games and dressing up but totally inappropriate in terms of being COVID 19 compliant. We had reason to move the conservatory furniture around ( put back before we left) only to find the floor had not been cleaned behind - further evidence of non-compliance to COVID-19 cleaning standards. With a little more care and attention the house could be very nice indeed but for us is not currently to the standard we would expect.
