Relaxed, rural getaway
This was a great rural spot! Derek was accommodating with booking changes, and the property manager, Tyler, was super helpful and communicative. He even gave the group an impromptu wood chopping class! Even though it was cold and wet (we stayed in early April for the eclipse), it was a lot of fun here.
The outdoors property really lived up to the listing! Inside, there was lots of space to relax and a well-equipped kitchen. We also took advantage of the game room, which is a big plus whether you have kids or not.
We did have a few gripes, but they did not even come close to ruining things for us.
The host or manager got mixed up and they thought we had booked to check in a day later. Because of this, the house wasn’t ready for us when we showed up. For instance, old food in the cupboards, some mouse droppings, and dead flies near the windows. As it was the off-season, part of the mess was likely due to the house being vacant for a while.
The basement toilet was broken. However, the other bathrooms were in working order. Also, two upstairs rooms are listed as having a twin bed, but they don’t. These things would mostly be concerns for larger groups. I’d also recommend downloading anything you need ahead of time. Being rural, our cell service was not great, and the wi-fi could be spotty.
Overall, our stay was great! I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxed, rural place to share with their family and friends.
