Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There is a fenced pond 50 yards away.. The perfect choice for a relaxing holiday, this tranquil retreat will appeal to all. Nestled on the edge of the small hamlet of Eastleigh, within glorious countryside and just 2 miles from the pretty waterside village of Instow and just 3 miles from the wide sandy surfing beach at Westward Ho!. These two delightful converted holiday cottages, beside the owners’ sheep farm, enjoy spectacular country views. Each has its own patio, perfect for a lazy breakfast as well as shared garden and some access to the farm with pretty walks to enjoy. Instow is an unspoilt, seaside village with large stretches of sandy beaches and dunes, fishermen’s cottages, shops, pubs and restaurants specialising in locally caught seafood. Bideford with its historic port and lively market as well as the Lundy Island ferry is 2 miles. The area is a must for water sports, sailing enthusiasts and fishermen, walkers and cyclists can enjoy the famous Tarka Trail. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

Tawny Owl is a very comfortable and spacious place for four people. If you have six staying there is still space but a little cosy if seating six in the lounge on two sofas. That said, it is a warm and spacious, well equipped cottage that I can recommend. Owners on site are very friendly, helpful and welcoming and we really appreciated the opportunities to chat with them. Eastleigh a small, quiet hamlet with plenty of local walks including across to Westleigh to the nearest pub. It is great location to walk sections of the N Devon Coastal path either north or south. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tawny Owl. The owners John and Catherine, our namesakes, were warm, friendly and very welcoming. The accommodation was was clean, well equipped and very spacious. This cottage is a fantastic place for a family holiday.
This cottage is a fantastic place for a family holiday. It is in a rural location, but near enough to local amenities to be convenient. The farmer and his wife were perfect hosts, leaving us to holiday, but on hand for whatever we needed. My children were taken to see the horse, the calves and made friends with the beautiful dog too. There is a large shared garden with views out onto the fields: perfect space for playing or reading. We were provided with sun loungers too! The cottage is well placed to explore North Devon and was a lovely, comfortable home from home to return to after a day out. I can't wait to return!! Highly recommended. An excellent comfortable property ideal for a quiet getaway. Difficult to find any fault with the property. The location is very rural so local amenities have to be accessed by car unless you are a keen walker. The farm to which the property is attached is very quiet and clean and the owners are very helpful and friendly. Wish we were back there already.

A lovely 2 week stay in a very homely cottage.
A lovely 2 week stay in a very homely cottage. A good base for exploring the local area. Only improvement could be blinds in the bunk bedroom as it gets light early in the mornings and with a little one they were up at the crack of dawn. Lovely welcome visit when we arrived and we were left wine and biscuits. Would recommend to family and friends.
