solent cottage
Beautiful well equipped and spotlessly clean cottage. The owner has catered for every age. We had a most comfortable stay. Our host gave a very accurate description and helpful information about the parking issue and steep stairs.

Solent Cottage is a lovely, beautifully renovated cottage in an excellent position in Yarmouth being in a quiet street just a couple of minutes walk from the town centre. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here but a lack of attention to detail prevented us from giving it a top rating. The instruction book for the cottage was hidden away in a drawer and we didn't discover it until 4 days into our holiday. It should have been out on display. The television could only receive 4 or 5 channels but this could have been so easily fixed with the addition of a Fire stick or similar which would have increased the choice of channels available. The grill pan rack was dirty and items of crockery which presumably had been broken had not been replaced. The en-suite shower room to the first floor bedroom does not have a toilet which necessitates a walk downstairs to the cloakroom. Having said all that we would recommend this cottage and if the owners were to up their game slightly we would give it 10 out of 10! Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Lovely, quirky cottage in unbeatable position in Yarmouth a lovely town.
Lovely, quirky cottage in unbeatable position in Yarmouth a lovely town. Comfortable, nice and warm and very well equipped. All amenities within 2 or 3 minutes walk and only 5 minutes from ferry. Very steep stairs to top floor but good view when you get there! Recommend getting an Island council parking permit which allows unlimited parking in any car park owned by the council on the island and is available for varying amount of days. Best restaurant/ Cafe for us was "Off the Rails" down by the old station Will come back in the Spring! Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Solent cottage is a lovely homely feeling cottage in a fantastic location.
Solent cottage is a lovely homely feeling cottage in a fantastic location. We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. The lounge was very comfortable and unusually for these types of cottage the owner had thankfully put a nice large TV in there which was fantastic. The beds were comfortable and the bedding clean and fresh. Plenty of storage including a great coat cupboard. There was a lovely outside sitting area but unfortunately weather was not good enough to sit out. The only down sides were that there were no chopping boards apart from a wooden bread board and the kettle had seen better days and we had to change the fuse. However this did not spoil our stay in any way and were minor niggles compared to the overall fantastic look feel and comfort of a really pretty cottage in a great location. We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay at Solent Cottage.
We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay at Solent Cottage. A beautiful house, comfortable and very well equipped. Even a slice of the Solent visible from the top floor bedroom. And all less than a minutes walk from the centre of Yarmouth with all its shops, pubs and restaurants, the pier and town beach. Have stayed at Solent Cottage a number of times before and plan to return. Highly recommend. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We had a really enjoyable holiday here.
We had a really enjoyable holiday here. Part of our party came by train to Lymington and walked straight on to the ferry. The cottage is an easy walk from the ferry terminal. We had one car with us and were provided with daily parking vouchers for the week. We had to find a parking space within the designated zone however that was not problem. It was a lovely cottage and we really liked the location. There are two excellent restaurants in the High Street, Cucina and The Blue Crab. Also not to be missed is the walk to On the Rails and on along the Yar estuary. It's an ideal base for seeing the west side of the island. I would certainly recommend this cottage.
