Cleanliness during COVID times
We had a good time, it was the first time we were able to get together in one place after a long time but these are some of our concerns: 1. Cleanliness -When we checked in, we were told it was ready for occupancy. However, when we went to the deck on the first and second floor, they were all dirty. The deck was strewn with leaves. It hasn’t been cleaned in a while because there were cobwebs and all the furnitures were grimy. It’s bad enough that we have to worry about disinfecting common areas nowadays but the place was simply not clean. We notified the vacation office right away. We called and sent them pictures. We got tired of waiting for someone to arrive. Since it was a hot day and it was cutting into our precious short weekend together, we took the initiative to clean the deck and wipe down all the furnitures. We called the vacation office to cancel the cleaning. 2. Bathroom - Downstairs bathroom doesn’t have enough pressure and hot water. 3. TV - TV in all the rooms were not working, except the TV in the living room. 4. Kitchen-One of the stove burners was not working properly. 5. Bedrooms - The website states that this was a six bedroom home. However, there were only five bedrooms. The 5th bedroom had an adjacent room (that did not have a door for privacy). During COVID-19, it will probably promote confidence in people to start vacationing again if the visitors are assured that the place would be sanitized after every use. However, the fact that the place had cobwebs is an indication that it hasn’t been cleaned in a while. Even rental cars now have a seal at the door to ensure that the cars were properly cleaned after each renter. Tv’s, stove, etc. - Maybe have a checklist to ensure that all items are in good working condition. Cleaning fee - We had to pay a hefty cleaning fee but we ended up cleaning the place ourselves. We had limited time together. It was supposed to be a reunion after a long time. We cannot get the precious time back but we did it on our own for our own protection as well. However, future guests may not be as understanding as us.

Great house! We loved all the Christmas decorations. Also, it was great having Apple TV units for each TV.

Winter Snow & Parking- During winter months the driveways, steps, porches, decks, and other outdoor areas at your property may not be accessible due to snow or ice. Our teams are on fixed routes for snow and work alongside city and county resources to clear roads, driveways, walkways etc. Guests should be prepared in winter months to shovel themselves in or out of the property and off of the street in these snowstorm events. As there is no street parking allowed in Big Bear it is extremely important that guests make every attempt to get vehicles off the street for the snowplows. California Law requires that vehicles traveling to Big Bear from November thru April have snow chains in their vehicles however we also recommend proper footwear, an emergency kit, and an extra snow shovel.
