I begged my husband buy a fishing lodge for years. I went & found this beautiful log lodge on my own (well, w/ the help of my sisters). It didn't take too much to convince my (now late) husband, Tony Hedley, MD, a die-hard fly fisherman, to buy the log cabin/lodge after showing him pictures. Growing up in Alaska is the greatest gift a parent can give a child. Born & raised in Alaska w/ a dad who was a dermatologist yet also a pioneer in the high end Alaskan fishing lodges. Though my husband & I bought the properties, my sisters & I started the lodge that sits on one of the greatest fishing holes on the River. The remodel took twice as long & twice the cost & now stands alone for fishing lodges in all of the Kenai Peninsula. Our dad's lodge in Bristol Bay was "Mike Cusack's King Salmon Lodge." We changed it up a bit & decided to continue on w/ that Alaskan family name as a tradition, "Cusack's on the Kenai." Kelly Cusack Millen, my oldest sister, helps on the promotional side. Kim Cusack Tolan, 2nd oldest sister, helps more with hostessing&gardening. Brooke Cusack, is truly the hostess with the most-ess, or possibly a tie with Kim for the top live entertainment at night. Did I say we were crazy Alaskans yet? Katelyn Cusack is the Cleaning Lady(NOT), but is the only "other" normal one like myself in the family. Katelyn has mastered testing out our beds for comfort. (There are 2 brothers in the line up but mess with the lodge as much). My 3 amazing yet hilarious children, Alexis, Jackson, & Olivia are my pride and joy and now starting to enter the business as workers. The older two are in college in Tucson, AZ and my baby girl is about to hit high school. Shane Scott (Jesus) w/ the long grey hair has been our operations manager for many years. He helped shape the business into what it is today with his excellent customer service & southern charm. For now, we have newly named our Wedding Venue, Michael's Garden, after the passing of our father in July of 2019.
