About this property

Fiery, cozy, starry nights - Farm Special!

Summary:
Bellemarie is a rural farm property nestled atop the ridge in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland at Bellthorpe.
The property is 66 acres of rolling green hills and valleys - 36 acres cleared and 30 acres of rainforest and tallow wood forest just waiting to be explored.

The Space:
Accommodation consists of a 3-bedroom cottage – king bed master with large television and ensuite, and 2 queen rooms. There is a luxurious main bathroom complete with a large bath and a shower with a view (fitted with 2-way glass so you can see out, but noone can see in)! The toilet is separate from the main bathroom, and an additional toilet is located in the laundry.

You will be able to enjoy your morning coffee sitting on one of two large decks either overlooking the rolling hills or gazing down towards the smaller of the dams on the property. If you like to cook then you will enjoy doing just that in this well-appointed farmhouse style kitchen sporting a chef’s oven and 6 burner gas cooktop with rangehood, a microwave, farm sinks, dishwasher, and modern appliances. Of course, if barbequing is more your style there is a 4-burner gas bbq located undercover on the back deck.

Sink into the comfy leather lounge and wrap yourself in a soft blanket and spend the night binging your favourite sitcom on the 65 inch digital tv with access to several streaming services. Or if you prefer to switch off from the digital world, light the wood burning fireplace and play board games, card games or read a book. Of course, the comfy cowhide chair near the fireplace with it’s own footstool and side table make the perfect place to relax and enjoy a glass of red or white.

There is an office space with full wifi connectivity to Starlink high speed internet for your laptop, should you absolutely have to log in to work to check your emails or attend a video meeting. Access is available to a front load washing machine, clothesline and drying racks should you need to do a quick load.

If relaxing outdoors and stargazing is more your style (and there are stars aplenty in the Bellthorpe night sky) then the fire pit area is made just for you. Next to the back patio and overlooking the top dam it’s easy to sit and be mesmerised by the burning embers for hours on end.

Bellemarie has plenty of beautiful flora and fauna, both wild and domestic -if you enjoy bird watching, you will be in heaven. There’s a chicken coop, and you are welcome to collect the eggs to cook your morning omelette if you wish. The coop has an automated door for the girls who love roaming about during the day, then put themselves back to bed at nighttime. Be aware though: they’re particularly friendly! You can also cut and use fresh herbs from the kitchen herb garden, and pick and enjoy the citrus, cherry guavas, peaches and macadamias when they’re in season.

Don’t be surprised if Fudge, Oreo, Eva and Francis come over to the fence to say hello. They’re Bellemarie’s pet cows and love being spoiled by a hand feed. You might also get a visit from the local guinea fowl family and wild geese duo who, like the cows, enjoy being thrown a handful of oats as a treat.

The cottage offers a double carport right off the front patio for easy access to the front door.

If all this sounds like fun, then Bellemarie is the place for you. Whilst we fully understand that this sounds like the perfect setting to bring your furry friends to run around, we do not allow pets of any kind to be brought onto the property. Bellemarie is a Land For Wildlife registered space.

There is a highchair & porta cot available for guest use. Please advise if you are bringing infants and require the use of these items. Upon request, they will be left in the laundry for you. Linen is not supplied for the porta cot – you will need to supply your own cot linen. Please ensure the cot and chair are left in a clean and sanitary state ready for the next guest. Additional cleaning fees will apply if they are found soiled.

The Shed on the property is out of bounds to guests and is signed accordingly. There is a security camera on the house end of the shed, facing away from the house towards the machinery bay/shed. There is also a henny penny camera in the chicken coop to monitor the hens and keep them safe! There are no cameras in or facing toward the house itself.

The Neighborhood:
Neighborhood description

If being more active is for you then there is plenty of property to explore. Put on your hiking boots or walking shoes and just go where your heart leads. Within the cleared landscape there are tracks weaving all over that take you up to one tree hill (a great place for a picnic), down to the birdlife moat and sanctuary with countless species of seasonal birdlife, over to the big pond (1.6 acre dam), down to where the wild geese like to play, and even one down to the platypus pond. If you wander down there at dawn or dusk and be patient, you might be lucky enough to see Percy, our resident platypus, come out from under the banks – a true Aussie treat! We’ve even cleared around a fallen tree to make it into a nifty viewing seat. If you’re up for a more adventurous time you can always follow the path right up to the halfway fence line and gate and go through into the rainforest part of the property. This is mostly uncleared but will eventually lead you down to the creek and small waterfall and gives you that wonderful feeling of walking in the Avatar set. Look out for bandicoots, echidnas, and wallabies in amongst the trees. It’s always cooler up on the mountain, but if you’re up to it on a very hot day you can cool off in either of the dams.

Getting Around:
Bellemarie lies just 20 minutes southwest of Maleny, 34 minutes to Montville and in the opposite direction 18mins
35 minutes to Australia Zoo
60 minutes to Maroochydore.

Other Things to Note:
Bellemarie is a rural property and a working hobby farm with both domestic animals and native Australian Flora and Fauna including poisonous or venomous species. Dams and creeks are unfenced to allow livestock access to water, and electric fences are in place to retain livestock in their paddocks. You are welcome to explore the property, via the slashed walking tracks, and you can swim in the dams and creek if you wish to do so. However please be aware that you do so at your own risk, and you take full responsibility for your own and your family and friends’ safety. Neither the owners, nor their appointed agency accept any liability whilst you are exploring the property.

*Please kindly note: We charge a nominal cleaning fee that does not cover our costs. We request light duties to be undertaken on checkout (you will receive a message at 7am on check out date) with instructions for dishes, rubbish removal etc.

We had an amazing time at Bellemarie. Not only was the house amazing but we were greeted with a bottle of wine, pretzels and marshmallows! The weekend was just what we needed, will definitely go back. Simply stunning, thank you for sharing this property with us!
