Great place to stay. Access to the beach, restaurants, souvenirs, water sports etc was important to me as I didn’t rent a car. Resort was beautiful and while there was construction going on, it didn’t affect my visit.

Beautiful grounds. Great swimming. Excellent staff. Just note there is construction currently on going. Brittney and Belkis were helpful and accommodating during the stay. the older gentleman who works on the beach providing chairs and umbrellas is the hardest working and personable staff member at Grand Roatan. Overall great stay!

January 2023- We loved this resort. Breakfast was great and they had a lot of options. Beach and pool were amazing, lots of great restaurants that were within walking distance. They set up excursions for us and offered complimentary transportation to and from the airport. We stayed in the Junior Deluxe suite which was perfect for just the two of us and it was like a little tree house. We will be back!

Pro's -Beautiful location, Friendly staff, Best Snorkeling location. The Spa and Gym look brand new and are the nicest I have ever seen. Dive operation onsite is excellent. Very convenient and helpful. Cons - Yes, the new building is under construction and there was some noise near the pool. Didn't bother us at all from the beach or while we were in the room. (Can't wait to go back and see the finished product.)

The resort has a great location and is wonderfully forested. The pool and beach bar are amazing. The staff service was friendly and helpful. However, there is a shockingly large multi-story building under-construction that towers over the entire resort. It's probably the tallest building on the entire island. It has been under-construction for 4 years now and seems like it's still a year or so until opening. It's next to the pool, so the noise is oppressive 6-days a week.

Grand Roatan was right in front of the reef. We snorkeled to it right from our beach at about waist deep. There were fish even at a foot of water. The staff was amazing. Every single person worked hard to make the place great. Whomever is doing the hiring is good. Quality people. We had a cabana type on the hill with a private outdoor shower and a great deck. Although it was a bit of a walk up the hill, we loved the privacy. The staff in the golf carts would also come and get you to take you to the beach, or even the store, at any time. This place was a perfect place to stay for us. We will be back.

What is unmistakable is it is located on the absolute best part of the beach. Massages at the brand new spa facility…the best I have EVER had. Snorkeling is Amazing, staff could not possibly be friendlier & efficient. There are a few things missing- no ice machines ($5 for ice $5 for delivery) in room delivery/menu again $5 charge lose a towel card $5 charge. I personally would prefer to just add it to the price of the room instead of nickel and dime. Replenishment of linens, glass ware hit and miss but suite cleaning was very good.

The staff, restaurant and condo were superb. The construction noise and dust was inescapable. It was miserable with no opportunity to get a break from the noise. It permeated the condo, at the pool and even at the beach. They worked on Sunday too from sun up to sun down. Had I known about the construction I would not have stayed at the Grand Roatan. There was no test or relaxation. We are so disappointed.

I would have given a higher rating but the cleaning of our room was not consistent as time went on. Cups not washed. Coffee maker not cleaned. We were in a junior suite that was not yet renovated so it was just okay. Breakfasts were very good and the young man making omelettes did his job very well. The other staff are very good. It would be nice to have a happy hour so that the guests would mingle a bit and get to know each other a bit and have some fun. It would be good for the resort and the clients.

This property feels like you are part of nature. The colors and unique build of the building and bungalow style suites blends in with its surroundings. The property is under a huge construction project and when it’s finished it will be spectacular. It is the only hotel on the side of west bay that truly is a five star resort. The reception manager, Vincent is the nicest person and helped us with all our needs. I have a bad back and we stayed at one of the junior suites that was wonderful but it was hard for me to walk so when they had a opening for the beach front he moved us. That room was great because it was a walk away from the restaurant and beach. This property has the best beach on the island. The water is crystal clear and it is a protected coral reef. You will see All sorts of fish, vibrant coral, moray eels, puffer fish, baby barracudas, even turtles just a few hundred meters from the beach. The morning breakfast is free and the service is good. It has room for improvement but I guess when the construction is finished they will have all that fixed. I like the room key. It is a rubber bracelet, much better than an card because it is water proof. The food can be much better but I guess that will come in time. Although the property was under construction it really wasn’t that noticeable. The grounds are well kept. The golf cart system was also a plus. Joshua and a couple of other guys are the nicest. This hotel is great

Checked in at noon but room was not ready till 4 pm. No tv in main room just tv mount. Wifi extender hanging out from tv in main room. Curtains in master bedroom had stains white spots that appreared. Not what you would expect for $600 a night.

The junior suite units were really nice and had comfortable beds, nice seating area, large bathrooms and our favorite, outdoor shower connected to the room. You do have an indoor shower as well but we took full advantage of the outside shower. The pool and beach area was very lovely and I LOVED that there were shady spots for people that need breaks from the sun. The breakfast was great and the servers were all super nice. There were some things we didn't care for here as well. At check in, there was no map to tell you how to get anywhere in the resort. That might not sound like a big deal but rooms are located all over the place and have VERY steep walking conditions to get to your room. No one offered to golf cart us to our room and the incline (40 degrees in sections) was tough especially with luggage. The paths were not sidewalked so you end up dragging your luggage through rocks to get to your room. There were also no signs to take you to the beach/pool area in the front area in fact, there are no signs letting you know that you are at the resort. You enter in a construction zone and then you find the resort through it. Worst situation was beach security. I reserved 2 chairs and umbrella. We went to our chairs that were marked for us but another beach security person kicked us out of our chairs because he promised them to someone else. I am not sure why they were more important than us but that happened. I wasn't happy at all. .
