Nice hotel close to traditional shopping areas

10 -15 mins walk to Huaihai road shopping areas, bars, cafes, restaurants, shops and Metro Sub stations, but it locates in a very hidden place, it took me a bit time to find it the first time. overall it's in a very handy location, great place to explore the old Shanghai. Room is big and comfortable, cleanliness needs to be improved better.

Second time to stay at Pudi Hotel

We stayed at the Pudi Boutique Hotel for the second time and really enjoyed our stay once again. The location is great nearby Fuxing Park and much of the french concession; walking distance to Xintiandi and subway stations. We visited Shanghai as a group of 4, and stayed in two rooms. The rooms were lovely and spacious, very comfortable bed and pillows, lovely window lounge. The bathroom is also large with a big bathtub. Luxurious towels and robes. The second room was upgraded to a bigger rooms in order for the rooms to be closer together, for free, which was lovely. It had a huge bathroom! Rooftop bar has nice views.

Superb suites

The Pudi is a lovely, small hotel with divine suites. Unfortunately, the jacuzzi was out of order while we were there, otherwise I would hav egocentric the hotel a perfect score. I did not eat in, there are many good cheap local eataries close by. The staff are helpful, but could do with further knowledge. We were told the post office was closed on Saturday, when in fact it is open all weekend. When asked how much we should expect to pay for a taxi to the Maglev, the staff member said 180 RMB. We travelled there twice for less than 50 RMB each time. Note - beware of taxi scammers charging 200-300 at Longyang Rd station. Look for the legal taxis without the touts. While work is going on at the station, they are situated at the end of the station, not the side.

I stayed a week with my 4yo and we loved everything! From the fact that it was next to the best park in Shanghai to the amazing rooms and great bath tub! Stay here if you want to enjoy your stay at Shanghai for business or leisure!

Fantastic Location, Great Value

Had an awesome time in Shanghai, the Pudi was amazing in that the location was great, even better the room was awesome, spacious, clean mordern - huge bath + seperate shower and and double his and hers vanities, free internet and printer - Awesome - highly recommended.

Pudi Hotel, Xintiandi area JUST PERFECT.

The Pudi Hotel far exceeded our expectations. Staff are friendly and professional. We chose the corner suite which was enormous with a huge bathroom, double sinks, separate huge shower, a bath and separate private toilet (which even had a magazine rack). The room also had a desk and a bar/tv cabinet. Lovely views and all the mod cons. The wardrobe which was in the hallway could be accessed by both the hallway and the bathroom. We especially loved the digital clock that shines the time on the ceiling and the night light. The terrace restaurant area is also lovely for afternoon drinks and breakfast. The Pudi is in a perfect location, just a 5 minute walk to Xintiandi for cafes, restaurants and nightlife and 2 minute walk to Huaihai Middle Rd where you will find Zara and lots of other shops. Overall experience was excellent and at a very reasonable price. Would stay longer next time.

Central to everything, from up-end stores to bakc-street local residence. Welcoming atmosphere - guests are not numbers to the Hotel, instead like residents and known by face to hotel staff. Luxury fittings at economic price.

Really great hotel. Rooms are lovely, bed is very comfy. Situated in the French concession which is a great area with more local attractions as opposed to the bright lights of Pudong. Would definitely stay there again

Pudi Boutique Hotel Shanghai- excellent location

Stylish and beautiful boutique hotel in ideal location in the French concession of Shanghai. Corner suite contains small kitchen with coffee and tea making and microwave, desk with everything needed for work and a fabulous bathroom. Very much enjoyed the hotel and the service provided by staff speaking quite good English.

Best hotel room I have ever stayed in

I have never stayed in Shanghai before and wasn't sure of where to stay but there was a great deal on this hotel. The room was very large with a bathroom almost as large as the room. I travelled with a friend and we had a room with twin queen beds and it was definitely the best hotel room I have ever stayed in. Being a 'boutique hotel' you didn't get the usual 5 star hotel glitz but who needs that. There was also 'happy hour' between 4.30 - 6pm with free drinks which you could enjoy on the roof top terrace. A really great hotel - when next in Shanghai I will definitely stay there again

GOOD CHOICE FOR FIRST TIME VISITORS TO SHANGHAI

At discounted Expedia room rate this hotel represented excellent value for money. My room was generously appointed and well maintained and staff were friendly and helpful. Free WiFi broadband connection in my room worked perfectly with good speeds. Although staff generally were fluent in English, an attempt to communicate per phone prior to arrival was less satisfactory because the staff member who answered was appreciably less fluent. Had there been an email address listed on the website this problem would not have occured. While still perfectly satisfactory, the hotel is beginning (just) to show its age. The fact that street level rooms (apart from the small lobby) appear mothballed and sealed off makes street appearance less than ideal. Pity some of this ground floor area, apparently now used for private purposes, could not be redeveloped as a guest facility with bar/coffee shop, etc. Location, in one of the nicer parts of the French Concession and adjoining Fuxing Park, is brilliant. Only a block from Huahai shopping street and the nearest subway station is less than 500 meters away. Ditto easy walking distance to tourist areas such as Xintiandi and newer Sinan mansions development.
