Nice location

Hotel need refurbishing . Food manual Needs some new dishies. Breakfast was same everyday needs One or two new dishies. Not very welcome approach by staff at front desk n reception area needs bright colour and needs new furniture..

Hotel is fine, the only thing stopping me from recommending this to friends is that it says couples must provide proof of marriage on the Expedia site. Not an issue for me, but for some of my friends it is. As it is with hotels in Cape Town there's a trivially small room tax to pay when checking out. Would be great if everyone could get their act together and just roll this into the rate, collectively, so that checkout could be smoother. Room was clean and comfortable, not luxurious but that's not important.

THE ONLY nice thing about this hotel was the view

My room was lovely and big. Lounge TV didn't work- I reported this on the Friday at 11 am - I left on MONDAY at 1pm - it still wasn't fixed. The room service was shocking, staff not too helpful. No one came to collect towels, replace them from Friday- Monday !!!!!

Handy for the Waterfront and City

We had two nights there with very reasonable rates. The room was comfortable and clean with a great view of the mountain. Eight minute walk to The V and A quarter at The Waterfront. End of the trip was a disaster when I realised my passport was missing but the reception staff were very helpful and considerate.

Clean Bed and Shower

The hotel was comfortable enough, the rooms we had were a little disappointing though. They were quite small and they used the term 'balcony' quite incorrectly - there was no balcony, just a door that opened to a balcony rail. The service was slow at best - but after 2 weeks in Africa, we were used to that!!

It is a nice hotel only just 3 stars

The staff were very good but I did not find the hotel room very clean getting in and out of the hotel was difficult as to what was front and back. A/C was very poor in the room.

Central location

Found hotel comfortable staff friendly and helpful could walk to Waterfront and into the city about 10 to 15mins each. Close to cafes and restaraunts at Cape Quarter for a three star hotel I found it more than comfortable, had no issues at all.

Convenient

We only stayed here 1 night, it was exactly what we needed, in walking distance to the robben island ferry. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I loved the white wine served as a welcome drink. Our room was comfortable and the area close to amenities.

Pleasant and convenient

Hotel was in a good location for bars and restaurants, as well as being relatively close, in walking distance, to the V&A. The staff were very friendly and helpful, however, a little inconsistent. They kindly arranged for a taxi for us to Newlands on the first day, at a reasonable cost, however, when we asked for the same on the second day, the cost almost doubled. We therefore took a 20 minute walk to the railway station for 90% cheaper. The room was spacious and clean for our 8 night stay, and we would definitely use it again if in Cape Town.

Fine for a night, but not an extended stay

The room was very bare bones and not nicely decorated. The bathroom was very tiny with no window and the shower curtain was so thin the water went right through it. The couch had been very worn and was sunken in the middle. The bed was so tiny and was hard for 2 people to sleep in, so one of us spent several nights sleeping on the couch. We had a patio door, but it didn’t open. One of our 2 air conditioners didn’t work and only the living room window opened. It was hard to air out the room. The pool was also dirty when we went to use it. The staff closed it down to clean but it still took a long time. The staff was friendly and helped us in any way they could. We could also see the New Years Eve fireworks from the pool area. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel but there are plenty of nearby places to get breakfast. Part of the reason this hotel was so disappointing was because the week prior we stayed at the Protea hotel down the street and that hotel was so modern and comfortable. The amenities were much nicer. Just know all Protea Marriott hotels are not the same.

Access issue

I arrived around 11pm. All access to property was closed and no signage or people to advise what to do. I had to walk around at that hour with car parked on road to figure out what to do. I eventually found a buzzer and someone opened. not good.
