Very helpful staff, clean rooms, nice food.

We found the room very clean and surprisingly spacious, great shower and good food available at the restaurant. Breakfast was ok for extra price paid. Very helpful staff when we needed bag storage and taxi at the end of our stay. Only down side was it could be a bit noisy at night if close to reception.

Different and a bit fun at a really good price

stayed 3 nights with breakfast included - although we had to leave at 6.45am on the last day but the breakfast buffet doesn't open until 7am, and no exceptions were made for us. This was the last 'hotel' we stayed at for our one month trip around Europe. I say hotel because its more like a back-packers, esp as the bathroom facilities are shared, and rooms are as small as they were in Hong Kong. Pro's - you can walk into town as budapest central is quite small, and its very close to the parliment which is good. Bed was reasonably comfy, and despite my presumptions boat didn't rock hardly at all, so no sea-sickness! Breakfast was good. Con's - Its a good 20 mins walk without bags to the closest metro, and 30 mins with bags. Loud creaking floor boards were a prob, kept me awake. Can hear what next door room is saying even when they are talking normally. My biggest prob was they had shower curtains that dont' provide 100% privacy instead of a closeable door like they had for the toilets, and you can see the showers from the hallway. showers also have no where to dry or hang your stuff and there is no changing area, private or otherwise, so you face the decision of either potentially getting your clothes wet or doing a sprint to your room in towel. The shower also was frequently blocked so got a free footbath. Also you can hear the muscial fountain which plays every 20 mins or so, with the same songs. drove me nuts. Staff were nice. Don't stay here more than 2-3 nights.

A Good Experience

We loved staying on the Boathotel eventhough it's getting on in age. We found the shower did not drain well and had to use towels to keep the floor dry. The location is great, just a walk along the River to the city. Good breakfast.

Do not book this hotel

The hotel cancelled our reservation 2 days before we were due to arrive, this caused us a lot of inconvenience as we had to find somewhere else to stay. We had paid Fortuna Boat Hotel in full for our reservation. Despite this, neither Fortuna Boat or Hotels.com will refund the money we have paid.

Nice position. Lovely views along river and short pleasant walk to Parliament building. I tried this boat as a quirky alternative to hotel. Didn’t work for me. The rooms are very small hardly room to move around at all. The worst thing for me was total lack of facilities. No bar No food or snacks available. No lounge or seating area to chill out. Fully accept I visited in winter and it might feel different in summer when there would be opportunity to sit out on roof terrace. I recommend if you do want to try this out go for superior room with river view and check before you travel to confirm they have allocated you the room you paid for.

Unique and cute.

Hotel is in an out if the way location but on the water with a view of the Island and just a few minutes walk from the #2 tram stop. Rooms are small, as to be expected in a boat, but clean with everything you need. Staff was very helpful in arranging airport transfer at a set price of 38 Euros for when we left.
