You can request an additional payment from a guest to cover extra charges, such as late checkout, parking permits or other incidentals.

 

How extra charge requests work

  • You can send up to five extra charge payment requests per booking.
  • Extra payment requests are not charged automatically. The guest must complete the payment to receive their stay extension or incidentals.
  • If the guest does not pay, the request expires after three days.

 

Send an extra charge request to the guest

  1. Sign in to your Vrbo Owner Dashboard.
  2. If you manage multiple properties, select the listing you want to manage.
  3. From the menu, select Inbox.
  4. Find the reservation. You can:
    • Use Filters to narrow your conversations.
    • Enter the guest’s name or reservation ID (Res ID) in the search bar.
  5. Select the guest’s name to open the conversation.
  6. In Payment schedule, select Add extra charge.
  7. Select a Fee name.
  8. Enter the following details:
    • Amount: Enter the full amount you are requesting.
    • Due date: Select the payment due date.
    • Message: Add a brief explanation for the charge.
  9. Select Review.
  10. Select Send additional charge to send the request to the guest.
