We really enjoyed the unique experience of staying in a historic beautiful country house. All the extras made us feel welcome and it was a fantastic base for exploring all the wineries and amazing scenery of the hills whilst being only a short drive to Adelaide.
Weekend stay was amazing, the property is stunning with views of the surrounding landscape and hills. Great location for a group as we did and perfect for day trips to the local breweries & wineries etc. Having ensuite bathroom with every bedroom was ideal.. no waiting on other people for showers. We Loved every minute!
Great property. Had a relaxing stay in an old style setting with beautiful views of the countryside.
Great kitchen for cooking up a feast and cozy interior with fireplace for a relaxing evening.
Great home for a group or family. It is a bit remote, so no ducking to the shops but perfect for a quiet retreat. No laundry so do allow for that.

Hi Vicki,
Thank you so much for your kind words saying we are lovely, great & perfect. It means a lot. :)
For the benefit of future guests, we have a general store & bakery just 3 minutes' drive away & there is a large shopping centre hosting both Coles & Aldi within 10 minutes in the Adelaide metropolitan area. There are also several wonderful cafes, pubs, restaurants, cellar doors & take-aways all within 10 minutes' drive. These are all listed in the comprehensive local guide provided.
Our guests just love the fact that they can be staying on a working farm (as described in our listing) & in the country but be so close to the city & other attractions.
We don't mention a laundry in our listing, we rely solely on rainwater so we can't provide one & our rates reflect this.
Thank you so much again for staying at our place.
Spacious, clean , old style large home. In the Hills, quiet lovely area, “industrial” kitchen but loved the space and facilities provided

Hi Paul,
Thank you so much staying, we are so happy you loved the space, facilities and our beautiful part of the stunning northern Adelaide Hills.
Our large and spacious kitchen certainly is a big hit with our guests.
We hope to welcome you again in the future. :)
This is the perfect getaway. The accommodation was amazing, very big kitchen and the walk-in fridge was so convenient. We had wintery weather and living area was warm and cozy with the log fires. Each room had its own bathroom and the beds were very comfortable.
I would highly recommend and will definitely consider coming back.

Thank you so much for that Jacky, it was an absolute pleasure to have you and your friends stay at ours for a second time. We hope we are lucky enough to welcome you back for a third visit. :)
I wanted somewhere calm, pretty and opulent to celebrate with my friends for my 40th, and Templewood had it all. Every one of us returned to our families feeling relaxed and having had a splendid dose of country luxury.
Templewood House was the perfect getaway for our Christmas in July. Upstairs 4 bedrooms each with its own ensuite and comfortable beds. Downstairs a spacious living/ dining area, cosy fireplace and enormous commercial kitchen with a walk-in cold room for a fridge! Electric blankets and heating/cooling in each bedroom.were cosy too. The grounds are picturesque and private. Horse riding is available if you book ahead. Although it's marketed as a wedding venue, it's also well suited for four couples or a girl's pampering retreat. The hosts thought of everything!
My husband and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary and it was such an amazing and comfortable place to stay! We had dinner outside on the terrace and looked over to the horses and we were lucky enough to walk over to the gate and pat the horses who were so friendly and cute. We played a board game while sitting in front of the fire place and it was just the perfect getaway. Would 100% recommend to anyone!!

Thank you for being so good to deal Eliza and for leaving the place so clean and tidy. We aim to make it a unique experience for our guests.
Our stay was wonderful. The house is amazing and very nicely setup. There was plenty for space for the Bride and bridesmaids to get ready, including hangers for the dresses and large full size mirrors.
There is a large industrial kitchen and fridge, so we had no issues with keeping food and drinks cool, plus prepping snacks.
The garden outside the house is also amazing and I loved all the different flowers.
We had a very comfortable stay and would highly recommend it to others.
Had a wonderful stay at beautiful Templewood House. A truly magical and unique place, Travis was very he[pful and welcoming and all the amenities of the house were very functional and very comfortable. Highlights were the open fire, a cuppa in the gazebo, evening on the verandah with the fairy lights on, excellent TV and Internet and great kitchen. The kids had a ball and lots of fun.A step back in time.Thankyou for such a wonderful and special experience.

Hi Aida
Thank you so much for staying at our place. We hope to welcome you again sometime & absolutely recommend you to any future hosts.
In our group of four couples, 4 of us turn 70 this year. Our first celebration was this weekend away, and the accomodation didn't disappoint. Very comfortable, lots of space - we were so lucky to get our booking, and Travis was most welcoming and helpful. The house is within easy reach of wineries for meals/tastings - we would recommend Kies in Lyndoch, Kersbrook Wines and Mt Bera. Would love to come back again when the weather allows us to make good use of the open fires, rather than the air conditioners (though much appreciated in the high 30 temps yesterday)Thanks Travis and Belinda for all your help making our weekend one to remember.

Hi Janet
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We were so lucky you chose to stay at our place to celebrate your milestone birthday and enjoyed visiting some of the amazing local attractions.
Thank you for leaving everything so clean & tidy. We would recommend you to any future hosts and hope we have the opportunity to welcome you all again. :)
Our group go away each year to a wine region in Australia. We chose Templewood near Adelaide Hills as it has accommodation for 4 couples including separate ensuites. The House was very large, with ample space, a great kitchen, lovely grounds and a warming open fire to enjoy our wine each night. The accommodation did not disappoint as the beds were comfortable with heating in each room. There were quite a generous array of supplies provided in the kitchen including the base ingredients for breakfast, tea, and a coffee pod machine. Travis also provided a lovely bottle of wine to enjoy.
We really enjoyed our stay at Templewood House. Travis was very helpful and met us on checking in and even had the fire going for us. Would love to come and stay again with a group of friends.
Our group of six were looking forward to a convenient escape in the hills away from family and commitments. The Homestead at Millbrook provided a beautiful, old world space that was perfect for cosy chats around the log fire and warm cuppa's shared overlooking the gorgeous garden and hillside views. Bedrooms provided creature comforts and a peaceful nights sleep for weary grandparents!! It was a fine escape that was very much enjoyed and easily coordinated with our host.
Great location for exploring Adelaide Hills wineries and restaurants. Perfect accommodation for 3 couples with an ensuite in each bedroom. Fantastic weekend was had by all! Thanks Travis for providing local tourist info and being flexible with checkout time.
We really wanted somewhere special to stay with family to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. What an absolutely beautiful house, we couldn't have asked for anything better. It will definitely go down as one of our most memorable trips as a family. The weather was cold and rainy so we couldn't spend a great deal of time outside enjoying the grounds, however it was so cosy and full of character inside that we enjoyed ourselves throughly. Would definitely recommend staying here, Travis was a wonderful host, thank you for a most enjoyable weekend.

About the host

Having lived away interstate and abroad for many years I have recently returned home to Adelaide. While this is my first HomeAway listing as a host, I was raised in a family running hospitality businesses so I understand the importance of personalised customer service and I hope to make your stay a memorable one. I am also a committee member of the local tourism association so I am happy to share any advice about our beautiful area, if you need it. My favourite travel destinations would be Argentina, Noosa, New York and anywhere in France.
Why they chose this property
This was our original family home that was renovated to become a premium accommodation venue.
