The house was wonderful and comfortable. The owner was very friendly and responded quickly to messages. The house was very clean. Checking in and out was very easy. Would definitely stay here again. We are a group of women in our 50’s who have traveled together for years and this was a wonderful wknd.
The house was perfect, very comfortable and clean. The host was very accommodating and super friendly. I will definitely rent from them again when I'm back in town. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
We only got to stay one night and arrived very late due to graduation at App. It was great to have a large, clean house to arrive at and get some needed rest. We did not get to prepare a meal or even enjoy the hot tub, but everything looked great and matched the description given. We would love to come back and stay a full weekend.
Amazing house tucked away in the mountains of North Carolina. 5 star place to stay. Property owner was easy to work with and easy to communicate with. Definitely recommend this place where you are looking to get away for a weekend or planning a ski vacation.
The house was very nice, definitely large enough for our girls trip, 7 of us. Everything was well stocked, hot tub was great. Plenty of deer around to admire. Would definitely return for another trip.
We had a wonderful family vaca. The house was spacious and clean. Host responded quickly with any questions we had. Loved the area but the hairpin turns not so much.
Thanks,
Denise
Home was clean and well kept. House rules were reasonable and communicated well. The host was accessible and friendly when I contacted them. This property had everything our party needed for a great weekend. Our party's age ranged from 1 to 50 years old. We had a blast
This is second time we’ve rented this great property! Quiet area on cul-de-sac; rooms/beds/bathrooms, to accommodate several guests; well- equipped kitchen; hot tub; nice wrap around deck & front porch; downstairs game area. We are already looking forward to next year!
This residence was perfect and exceeded our groups expectations! We were a friends group of 7 women. The house, the upscale amenities, the cleanliness (spotless and very clean)…everything was perfect (and I’m particularly fussy lol).
The pics on VRBO don’t do it justice.
We cannot wait to return!
We had two families with young children staying at this house and it was perfectly set up for that. Two king beds are a huge benefit as were having two living room spaces - plenty of room for everyone to enjoy the time we were in the house. Pack and play and high chair at the house, so you save room in your car when packing. We had everything we needed and the house was clean when we arrived.
Our only complaint is that the upstairs bathtub didn't drain; and all the bathrooms, with the exception of the master, seemed very dark. Other than that, we LOVED the home! It was very clean and we had room to be separate when needed. Enjoyed the visits from the deer!! The weather was so nice we didn't need the AC.
Enjoyed it!! Especially the deer that came to visit us everyday. Grands and adults all loved that!! They ate blueberries out of our hands! Only recommendation I would make is have more towels for larger families. We used the hot tub too so everyone needed towels for that too. If that isn’t an option then let renters know to bring extra or beach towels for the hot tub. Thanks so much!
Senior ladies rented for a girls trip. A snafu on cleaning before rental was very quickly resolved by owner to our satisfaction. The rental has everything that you would need except sufficient towels. There did not seem to be enough towels for a group of 8 individuals including lack of handtowels. Having to drive 10-15 minutes away to ake garbage to a trash facility is a huge inconvenience when departing. Other houses around have latching garbage locations that this house had removed. You have to have a tag to take the garbage then return the tag back to the rental. That's 20-30 minutes when you are trying to quickly depart by 10am.
First and foremost, the host was super friendly and available to help; however, a few things about the house need some updating. The great room is beautiful and was perfect for our group but the fireplace and TV were not working properly. The microwave was not working during our stay and it was just a little inconvenient. Overall our stay was nice, the property is beautiful and I would love to stay again once the minor improvements are made.
Charter Hills VRBO was a true delight, very clean, spacious, and a well-planned layout for multiple families traveling together. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of utensils, and dishes f or up to ten people. While there weren't any mountain-top, long range views, the cabin's location was very quiet in its forest setting with lots of interesting wildlife, including numerous deer, wild turkeys and even an albino skunk.
Kudos to the hot tub maintenance crew for the cleanest hot tub we've ever experienced.
Great property for families with close proximity to Beech Mountain Ski Resort. Clean, well kept, as advertised.

About the host
Hosted by James Green
Hey, my name is James and I'm excited to be your host. My family and I are new to North Carolina and have loved exploring every part of it. I'm a small business owner, real estate agent and investor, and most importantly, all-around family guy (beware of dad jokes).
Why they chose this property
I've named this cabin "Aspen Acres" in honor of my grandparents' cabin from my childhood. It was a place the whole family could retreat to for summer vacation and the holidays, where we could explore the outdoors and just spend time together. I'm hoping I can recreate those experiences and closeness with my own kids and our friends, and allow our guests the same opportunity. We fell in love with Beech Mountain when we visited in January of 2021, when we took our kids skiing for the first time. We're looking forward to enjoying this quaint, mountaintop town during all seasons of the year, and invite you to do the same.
What makes this property unique
Aspen Acres really has it all--plenty of room for family and friends, great communal spaces for making memories like the great room with the fireplace, the game room in the basement, the hot tub, fire pit, and wrap-around deck for twilight conversations. It's close to trails, slopes, and shops, while still feeling secluded and surrounded by trees and wildlife. And if you're looking for something farther afield, it's a great home base for day trips to Grandfather Mountain, Blowing Rock, and Boone, plus nearby wineries, golf courses, and resorts.
