Gorgeous property with an exceptional host

We absolutely loved staying at Dar Ilham! Karim was the most wonderful host (coordinating all our transport, a camel ride, and anything else our hearts desired) and his team were all so accommodating. Our compliments to the chef! The food exceeded expectations and the relaxing atmosphere immediately put us in holiday mode. Dar Ilham was recommended to us by friends who visit at least once annually and they did not steer us wrong! Our 4 year old daughter loved the Dar Ilham cats and swimming pool and still talks about it daily (several weeks later). Can’t wait for our next visit. Thank you Karim!

Un lugar increíble a unos 20 minutos de Marrakech. Uno de los mejores Riad que nos hemos alojado. Habitaciones muy grandes muy bien decoradas con mucho estilo y con mucho gusto. Cámas cómodas y muy grandes. Lavabo muy limpio y muy bien equipados. Las habitaciones cuentan con una terraza privada donde te sientes muy a gusto y muy fresco. Habitación con vistas a una magnífica piscina y el jardín que está cuidado al máximo. Karim, el director del Riad, es una persona que está en todo momento para hacerte sentir como en casa, preocupándose en todo momento de tus necesidades. Unos desayunos fantásticos al lado de la piscina donde el fresco de la mañana junto con el olor a café y zumo de naranja te hacen sentir muy a gusto. Una gran piscina muy limpia y muy bien cuidada con hamacas y toldos de primera calidad. Nosotros viajamos con dos niñas de 8 y 12 años y tenían todo tipo de flotadores y utensilios varios para jugar en la piscina. Cenamos, en una Haima muy bonita que está instalada en el jardín, una comida excelente . Es cierto que los precios están por encima de lo que habitualmente puedes encontrar para cenar en cualquier sitio de Marruecos pero la verdad es que la calidad era muy buena. Sin duda un lugar para ir a descansar y pasar unos días fuera del bullicioso Marrakech. 100% recomendable.

Bonjour Nous avons séjourné 4jours/3nuits dans ce Riad avec notre bébé de 16 mois. Tout était parfait, la chambre, le service, le Riad en lui même ... nous sommes habitués aux hôtels mais nous reviendrons sans hésiter au Riad Dar Ilham. Un grand merci à Karim et ses employés qui étaient pleinement dévoués à ce que notre séjour se passe au mieux.

The Riad Dar IIham is a perfect place to stay... Beginning with sweet breads with our morning coffee to the garden's roses in bloom, on to the inviting clean pool, the peacocks and evening song birds * all awakened our senses. The best is the staff, always attentive, helpful and polite... Oase der Ruhe

Wir hatten einen unbeschreiblich schönen Urlaub einem wunderbaren Hotel. Karim und sein Team haben uns behandelt wie Könige. Es wurde jeden Tag Marokkanisch für uns gekocht, es fing beim Frühstück an, ging über Tee und Gebäck und hörte beim Abendessen mit allem zip und zap auf. und alles war sehr lecker. Die gesamte Anlage inclusive Zimmer waren stets sehr gepflegt und sauber. Auch wenn Marrakech eine wunderschöne, sehr bunte, sehr facettenreiche Stadt ist, war es dort auch sehr hektisch, laut und turbulent und man war immer froh in die Oase Dar Ilham zurück kehren zu können ! Die Entscheidung sich etwas außerhalb einzuquartieren war für uns genau richtig und würden wir jedem, der auch ein wenig entspannen möchte nur empfehlen ! Die Fahrt mit dem Taxi vom Hotel in die Stadt verlief immer Problemlos und kostete circa 100 Dirham, das sind in etwa 10€.

Little Paradise

Wat hebben we genoten van het prachtige Riad! We werden verschrikkelijk in de watten gelegd. De eigenaarskoppel, Fatima - de gastvrouw- en de kokkin onthaalden ons bijna als een koninklijke familie. Zulke vriendelijke en zorgzame mensen. Ze deden alles met toewijding en liefde. Dit kom je tegenwoordig niet meer tegen. Fantastische grote en schone kamers; stijl- en smaakvol ingericht in Marrokkaanse sferen. Het eten was verrukkelijk... vele Marokkaanse gerechten werden voor ons bereid. Een heerlijk zwembad en prachtige tuin rond het huis. Als we naar de Medina, een badhuis of op eea excursie wilden werd er een taxi voor ons geregeld. Op en top vakantie ... een dikke 10! Deze plek en mensen zullen we niet snel vergeten. Echt bijzonder!

My daughter and I felt like royalty we were treated with so much respect. The Riad was an oasis of peace and tranquility, a green and bird twittering environment. We felt we were staying in a private home as it was so relaxing and no formalities such as a reception area. Our stay included breakfast which we ate next to the pool but we also had lunch and dinner on a couple of occasions on request but give them warning as it is cooked from scratch so takes a little while. The tagine was especially good. One day we asked if they had hummus but it was lost in translation, Fatima googled it and came up with a hummus type soup / dip which we were very touched by! Taxis were also booked at our request and we had the same driver each time we visited Marrakesh who was very helpful and friendly and advised us on various things. He was extremely reliable and we felt very safe with him. They also organised their own Hamman for us which was a fantastic experience and worked wonders on my skin particularly which is usually very dry. All in all I would recommend this Riad for its Moroccan authenticity, the peace and calm in contrast to the hive of activity that is Marrakesh and the excellent service of all the staff .

riad au calme vraiment reposant

nous avons séjourné 5 jours dans ce très beau riad un grand bravo au personnel (accueil, propreté des chambres, chauffeur de taxi) qui ont su rendre notre séjour très agréable un petit bémol il était noté qu'un dîner de gala était compris pour le réveillon de Noel et il n'y a rien eu un merci particulier au chauffeur vraiment sympatique et nous a vraiment bien conseillé nous reviendrons sans doute si nous passons par Marrakech Meilleurs voeux pour 2017

Short Break

This is a great hotel for a short break! Very clean and tidy! Nice large pool, but the pool heater was not working. There are a number of good spa treatments available at a reasonable price. The food on the lunch and dinner menu was really good!

Honeymoon stay

Beautiful hotel and really accommodating staff, located quite far from the city centre which makes it really calm and peaceful and there is always a taxi on hand to take you straight there (20minute drive) breakfast was lovely and traditional but the same everyday

Peaceful Christmas Break

We decided to have "a get away from it all" Christmas this year. We had been to Marrakech before at Christmas 2004 and stayed in a large hotel close to the city centre. This time we chose the Riad Dar Ilham about 7 miles outside the city, what a wise choice. We had a relaxing, peaceful break far from the hustle & bustle of the Medina. The Riad was staffed with wonderful helpful people who made everything perfect. Everyone associated with this Riad deserves praise. We shall definitely return.

Like in a dream

I went there with my partner and the first word that comes up is wonderful. We both had such a great time. The staff are all very welcoming and friendly specially Nadia, everybody was full of good advices and the owner Alain is always happy to have a chat with you. We were upgraded for free into a junior suite, which was very spacious and very comfortable. Our balcony overviewed the swimming pool, and we had a couple of glasses of wine watching the sunset over the Atlas mountains, seemed like we were both dreaming. Also, the food was amazing and always came in huge portions, we always had to order a tajine for one person to share. Very rich and very tasty. All the facilities were very nice, pool was brilliant, the Jaccuzi was a bit too cold but it didn't really matter anyway.

Fab, restful and calm

The staff and hotel are amazing. They were always on hand and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel room was all the website had shown and the hotel itself was excellent. Eating outside in the big tents was exciting and different, sometimes the cats became annoying, but the food was just delicious. Marrakesh was busy and tantalizing, a bit European and a bit African all at the same time. A must go to place for sure!

Great Hotel...outside of the main hustle bustle but well worth the short taxi journey into town. A definite must if you are in Morocco.

Captive Audience

The staff are nice and helpful ,if a little confused sometimes .The Riad is 20 minutes from marrakesh center ,the times of free transport did not suite us so we ended up spending lots on taxi fares.£25 two way trip .This means that your pretty much eating lots of meals in the hotel which while the food is spot on its expensive ,the least we spent on meal for 2 was £45 ranging up to £65 .Good food is on offer in the town for £10 .but when you add taxis in is it worth travelling .We went on the cooking course which was supposed to be £90 all in including pick up and return but were asked for extra £20 by the driver for transport.The heated pool was cold until day 3 when they put the heaters on.There is nowhere near the Riad to go for a walk not even a small shop . I would recommend stopping nearer the center of Marakesh it will save you lots of money.

Hôtel très calme,

La chambre était très petite et sans lumière, la salle de bain aussi, avec robinet qui fuit... Quand nous sommes arrivés, il faisait très froid et humide dans la chambre, cela s'est arrangé grâce au chauffage mural (qu'il fallait éteindre la nuit car trop bruyant). Cependant, le personnel de l'hôtel est très efficace et pour partie d'une grande gentillesse. Il existe dans cet hôtel des chambres plus grandes (et plus chères), mais nous ne le savions pas car nous n'avons pas eu le choix lors de la location. Le petit déjeuner est délicieux, c'est vraiment le point fort du séjour! La piscine est agréable, très propre et bien tenue Une partie de l'hôtel était en travaux, avec pas mal de bruit dans la journée... Enfin, l'hôtel est situé à 20 mn de la ville, trajet facturé entre 20 et 30 euros allez retour suivant l'heure.
