We had a perfect stay for my husbands birthday, the cottage is idyllic it as everything you could possibly need. It as a very homely feel in a beautiful village with local shops and pubs, we would highly recommend a stay in this luxurious and special cottage.

Beautifully kept cottage with everything you need. Close to the coast for day trips, and a lovely oasis of calm to return to after a day exploring.

A fantastic place to stay... Julie and Robert are wonderful hosts...The cottage we stayed in was well appointed and super clean with secure parking outside the holiday cottages... everything you could want for a relaxing stay... we'll definitely be booking again...

Drake cottage

We booked Drake cottage to stay as we got married in whitby It made our wedding weekend perfect The cottage is clean and well presented We loved our stay there and already booked it again for our first wedding anniversary next year The area is quiet and peacful ideal for relaxing We would definitely recommend to family and friends Julie and Robert are great hosts

Fantastic, Relaxing Break

What an amazing cottage! It was immaculate and the photos don’t do it justice. The hosts were helpful without being intrusive, our dog had a great time (and made use of the doggy shower in the courtyard - genius idea!). Highly recommend the cottage to anyone wanting a holiday in that area -10mins drive from Whitby. Lots of nearby beaches to visit and country walks. The number of repeat visitors to the cottage speaks for itself.

So glad we found this little gem. A lovely, cosy and comfortable cottage, just a few miles from Whitby that has everything you need for the perfect get away.We were greeted by Robert who showed us round and made us feel very welcome. The information sheets in the cottage were very useful.After a long walk along the cliff tops of Whitby, we enjoyed relaxing on the comfy sofas and watching a film on the TV (Which has Netflix and Prime, along with a Freesat box). The cottage was lovely and warm and our dogs settled down really well.If you’re looking for for a quiet and comfortable place to stay, within close proximity of Whitby/ Runswick Bay then we would highly recommend this cottage.

Hidden treasure

Well we had an amazing week here at Whitby beautiful surroundings, the cottage had everything you could ask for, it’s within driving distance to all amenities the owners Robert & Julie were very hospitable and recommended lots of local areas to explore just a word of warning if your taking a van or larger vehicle the entrance to cliff farm is small and a challenge …

Thank you for your 5 star review. I would like to point out that We have ample parking on the front of the property which avoids you using the entrance should you wish to. The rear car park can park all cars up to range rover size. This couple came in a long wheel base transit camper van and banged into the fence of one of the cottages at the rear whilst attempting to park it in a space in our car park. Our blacksmith and window cleaner both park their vans in the car park but they are average size working vans. Many thanks

Lovely long weekend

Lovely property in a great location for Whitby and the surrounding area. Good communication with owner, property was perfect for 2 of us for a long weekend with our 2 chihuahuas. Welcoming bottle of wine but no tea bags so we had to pop out to get some as I assumed they would be provided. Bed was extremely comfortable and the bath was lovely to relax in after a day out walking. Great to have a log burner and the dogs loved lying in front of it in the evenings. Would definitely recommend

First class accommodation

Julie and Robert’s holiday accommodation is first class. Spectacularly clean, tastefully remodeled and furnished. The kitchen is well equipped, and there are tea bags and washing up liquid. The main bathroom is luxurious. Scenic location, pretty courtyard and property. Hosts were gracious enough to allow early entry for an 85 year old traveling companion. If you are an American and expecting personal care products such as hand soap, body wash and shampoo, tissues/kleenix or face cloths customarily provided by US VRBO establishments…you’ll be a bit disappointed.

Lovely renovated farm cottages

We had a lovely time staying in The Coach House. Beautifully renovated and furnished, with an excellent kitchen. The weather was particularly chilly when we were there, but the cottage was always warm and cosy. We ate out a few times and made a few simple meals in the cottage - as well as a cooked breakfast each day (well, we were on holiday!), everything we needed was provided plus essentials like washing-up liquid and dishwasher tablets. It was nice having armchairs in the kitchen diner as our old dog can’t climb stairs anymore so we mostly stayed downstairs with her (note - the sitting room with leather sofa and TV is upstairs). We slept well, the bed was really comfortable with feather pillows and a cozy duvet. We would definitely return.

Fantastic property in a perfect location

What a find. A beautiful and well appointed cottage. Extremely clean throughout and gorgeous decor. Comfortable sofas and beds. All the little things were taken care of - toilet rolls, hand soap, dishwasher tablets, bin liners, food bags. A bottle of Sauvignon Blanc (my favourite) was left for us. Welcoming and helpful owners. They really couldn’t do enough for us. We will return soon.

Lovely Cottage

Excellent property in good location. Walks from the door, pub near by, great chippy nearby too. Cottage lovely and clean, everything there for a great holiday. Owners live on site and were very helpful.

Really lovely cottage , great walks from the door

Overall had a great experience , very clean .Sauna was great but they could do with a shower , even if it’s outside - would be a great addition .Alas the dishwasher was not working :( an improvement would have been to offer some recompense-. .

This family of four stayed with us and used the sauna on two of their three nights. We supplied the sauna and an extra two towels each at no extra cost. As we are in the national park we would not be able to build a shower outside in the garden that was clean and pleasant to use. As there is a large cubicle with a raindrop shower head in the cottage, people usually walk back the very short distance to shower after a sauna. Unfortunately the dishwasher was found to be not working properly when our cleaner went to clean on the day this family arrived for a 3 night break. It was a Friday and the engineer does not work weekends but came out after they left. As we had not increased our prices for the Easter school holidays, it was very good value for a couple and two older teenagers.

Drake Cottage Stay

Really enjoyable, restful and peaceful long-weekend break in Drake Cottage near Whitby. Friendly, helpful owners but very respectful of your space. Compliments to them for the high standard of fixtures and fittings - very tastefully furnished and finished. Great Wi-Fi connection too for those who need to stay in touch. Beds exceptionally comfortable. Good space for dogs to be exercised around the property. All in all, I’d thoroughly recommend Drake Cottage as an excellent place to spend time exploring Whitby and the surrounding area.

Superb stay

The property was immaculate ultra clean with all the facilities you need, very comfortable beds and great shower, the outlook from the cottage was fabulous countryside. Sleights village was close by that had a bakers, convenient store and butchers, it also had a pub that did good food and an excellent fish and chips shop. There were some great walks from the property which was also in close proximity to all the North Yorkshire towns and villages. I highly recommend the property we will definitely be staying again.

Gorgeous cottage

Gorgeous cottages, dog friendly. Spotlessly clean. Very friendly hosts. Beautifully decorated. Very comfortable beds. Hosts lefts some Thornton chocolates for us which was a really nice touch. Would definitely stay again.

A wonderful experience from start to finish, a beautiful property with all you could wish for in a calm and peaceful environment but still very close to Whitby. We had a completely relaxing and revitalising few days... We will be back again!!
