When we decided to spend our holidays in The Netherlands we wanted to live in a special place. Why not in a windmill from the late nineteen century? We went to Abcoude by car from the south of Spain carrying our bikes (two adults and three children). We wanted to live Holland in a quiet way, doing simple things, like riding bikes, walking in the countryside or having a boat trip in the river next to the mill. The mill was the perfect complement to this unique and great experience that no one of us will never forget. The mill is surrounded by lush pastures, we enjoyed watching the cows and sheeps (they like bread) and pheasants as well as nesting storks across the canal. Maarten was very nice, helpful, informative and interesting. He also invited us to see the sheeps shaving. We really enjoyed the space and would highly recommend a stay in the mill, specially for families with children; they always remembered! Macarena y Emilio. Córdoba (Spain)
