From beach to nature walks, you will find everything you are looking for; local family attractions include Watermouth Castle, The Wildlife and Dinosaur Park and Exmoor Zoo. Exmoor National Park is a short distance away, and on a clear day the views can be spectacular. There is a good range of walking for all abilities on Exmoor and the slightly more challenging South West Coast Path.
There are National Trust properties at Arlington and Knightshayes, and RHS gardens at Rosemoor and Great Torrington. The popular Tarka Trail provides a unique opportunity to follow a disused railway line, allowing you to enjoy some of Devon’s finest countryside and scenery stretching from Barnstaple through to Bideford and beyond. At Croyde and Woolacombe you will find some of the best and cleanest surf beaches in the country, as well as many smaller coves and bays.
