Wonderful family lakefront stay!

Our family had a wonderful time in this charming lake home. We were just four people, but there was room to comfortably accommodate so many more! It is both cozy and spacious, and has everything you need for a family vacation. We enjoyed the kayaks and the dock. The location is fantastic, between lake Keuka and Watkins Glen. The owner was easy to communicate with, and promptly answered any questions that came up.

Nice location & neighborhood.

Nice property, large yard that the kids enjoyed. Good proximity to water. Listing had a few errors, misleading. Furniture needs updating.

Lovely place on the lake to relax and detach

The property is a bit rustic and off the beaten path but has all the things you need. My husband and I wanted a place to relax and do some detox from the stress of work and everyday life and the property fit the bill. We wanted a place to take our dogs and allow our retriever to swim to her hearts content and the lake across the lightly used street fit the bill. We did not stray far but there was lots to do in the area if you need or want entertainment.

A great getaway!

The property was ideal for a family gathering. The house is rustic and charming but in need of some updates and repairs. We are used to “glamping” so this did not present a problem for us. Plenty of room indoors and out. The yard was spacious for lawn games and the little cabin was priceless! The outdoor fire pit was large and quite enjoyable. The only downside was that the lake is not conducive to swimming as the lake is loaded with seaweed. That was disappointing for us swimmers. However, the lake was calm and some of us enjoyed many hours of longboarding.

My family very much enjoyed our stay on Wellers Island; it was quiet and comfortable. We hiked nearby trails, visited the Corning Glass Museum, and appreciated the lake and the kayaks.

Absolutely would stay again!

The owners of the property were so helpful and nice! We had and issues with the book which was in no way their fault it was a glitch in Vrbo's system. They were so helpful and responsive through the whole process. The house was very clean and everything we expected of this cute lake house. My family and I has so much fun and would book this house again anytime. The owner was very responsive and helpful to any questions we had, they were will to come help with anything. We only had to bring ours, what we packed, and a few groceries. The cabin had everything else we needs including laundry soap, dish soap, etc. Which to me was nice because I didn't have to worry about my kids wet/dirty clothes from the our state park visit. This quite little island was within 20 minutes of Watkins Glen and several other great places and towns. Great family fun, our dog even had fun. We would book again anytime!

Nice View and Great Lake access

The location on a quiet lake is outstanding. We truly enjoyed our week. The best parts of the property are all outside. I loved how dog friendly the house was. There is a back room where pups can be safely left while their humans are out. There is also a small fenced yard for potty time. It’s truly a “camp” house. Not too many frills. But it had everything we needed. We spent most of our time outside or in the dining room. The furniture in the sitting area is not very comfortable. The upstairs bedrooms are a little cramped, but would be perfect for kids. My 6’+ sons would have appreciated taller ceilings. All in all a great week!

Our experience

We had to clean upon arrival because there was grime on the cabinet doors next to the knob (which didn’t stay on) as well as dark filth in the sliding glass window at the bottom. I don’t believe that the blankets were washed. (Not the bedding) They did not smell fresh. The sliding glass windows did not lock. I guess it was helpful when we were locked out (our own fault) because we were able to use them as extra doors. The grill was not useable because the hose did not stay attached and the gas leaked. Aside from these concerns the house has potential. Hopefully it will be nicer for the next renters.
