Built in 1927, this cozy 2BR/1BA cottage blends vintage charm with modern comfort. Once home to Dr. J.P. Hunter, Cary’s first physician, it features hardwood floors, a full kitchen, dining area, living room, washer/dryer, and a dedicated workspace. Located in a quiet neighborhood, it’s a short walk to Downtown Cary and the historic district. A $200 refundable security deposit is required. No pets unless approved.
What makes this house unique is the history. Dr. JP hunter was the first practicing physician in Cary who reside in this home from 1929 till 1959. The floors aren’t all even but that is his charm. All interiors from kitchen, bathroom, living, bedrooms, utility room are updated to modern comfort. There is a lovely wrap around front deck that would be relaxing on spring and summer nights. A lovely enclosed backyard. No pets allow. Unless prior approval.
A very safe and quiet neighborhood literally walking distance to Cary Downtown Park. I encourage you take a stroll during the afternoon and late evening to experience the “Cary” town feel. It is quite calm, peaceful, and very enjoyable. Harrison / Chatham intersection, The Mayton Inn, Cary Arts Center, the Fountain, Pavilion, Great Lawn, Skywalk, and many more, all walking distance. Enjoy the night life, dinning, and tranquil stroll along the pedestrian walk.
There are many boutique cafes and restaurants such as Crosstown Pub and Grill, Once in a Blue Moon Bakery and Cafe, Serendipity Gourmet Deli, Academy Street Bistro, The Cotton House Craft Beer, The Verandah. Very few small shops for grocery. Real grocery like Harris-teeter, Kroger, Lidl, Walmart one should drive to. Cary Park Perimeter with many of our local corporations like SAS, Sprint, Verizon, are 5 to 10 minutes drive.
Other large event in the area includes Arboretum, Museums, Wake Med Soccer Park, Lake Crabtree County Park, Bond Park, approx 10 to 15 min. drive, PNC Arena, Carter Finley Stadium -Home of the NCSU Wolfpack, Meredith College, Duke and Chapel Hill with in 30 minutes drive Via 1-40
Transportation - If you must visit Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, I recommend and suggest a car rental. Alternatives include Uber and Lyft. They are just an apps away.

Hunter is within walking distance of downtown Cary and the historical district. Literally five-minute stroll, three short blocks away. Visit the Paige Walker hotel and museum which was built in 1868 by Cary's founder, Allison Francis Paige. It was the first architectural style called the second empire. Walk to Cary’s original theater built in 1946. You won’t to miss visiting the gorgeous pink Guess-White-Ogle house built in 1838 in the Queen Ann style. Remodeled later with Greek revival detailing. You can walk to the library; Cary’s fountain circle then heads a few blocks for shopping and dining. You are close to highways and Raleigh is just minutes away. There is a nature preserve park, Hemlock Bluffs, about 5 miles away.
RESERVATION POLICIES:
1 - Door codes are always shared at 4 PM. The check-in time frame is from 4 PM-11 PM, anytime after that would be considered a violation of our rules, this timeframe allows us to help if needed during our working hours(8AM-12AM).
2 - Early check-in, Late check-out, and Early bag drop are subject to availability
3 - Door codes will not be shared if the incidentals deposit of $100 and registration are still pending.
4 - Deposit is released 3-7days after the original check-out date,
5 - All complaints must be notified after 30 mins of check-in.
6 - All departures must be reported immediately in a very clear way to us after for calendar availability to others and issue resolution for you, it is recommended to send an alteration request if needed, this helps you to get the unspent nights back while we get the calendar available again, we can then check the spent nights.
7 - All reservation changes must be done before the checkout time each day (11 AM), changes can not be done after 11 AM as per the app configuration, we can not override this.
8 - If you need an early departure, please submit an alteration request so it can easily be approved.
9 - No courtesy refunds are provided.
10 - If you happen to request a full refund for any circumstance please be ready for Immediate check-out, be sure to alternate the reservation for an early departure so we can approve the unspent nights that were supposed to be non-refundable, so we then might consider another courtesy for the spent night if applicable.
12 - If you want me to coordinate any amenities, please let me know 24 hours in advance (4 PM-12 AM) so my team can deliver or resolve on-site the next day.
13 - Extra cleanings in case of Issues or courtesies should be arranged 24 hours in advance and before 10 AM each day.
11 - INCIDENTAL DEPOSITS POLICY: Amount of the Incidentals fee hold after booking: $100. As an API software connected Host, we are entitled to ask for a preventive fee in case of damages with the usage of a 3rd party. Airbnb's policy, see here: https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/140 In situations where the damages exceed the amount of the deposit, we will utilize the resolution center to address the liability for these damages. Through this process, Airbnb may either charge the cost to your card or apply AirCover for resolution.
12 - REGISTRATION POLICY
Registration is a mandatory step after booking, requiring the submission of IDs for all guests under the reservation. and even will ask you to scan your credit card. - It's crucial to complete both (Deposit and registration) accurately; failure to do so will result in your reservation termination with no refund.
Check-in is any time after 4 PM.
Check-out is at 11 AM. Please note that a late Check-out without authorization will lead to a night-rate cost penalty, that could be deducted from your security deposit.
Parties are fully prohibited. QUIET TIME FROM 10 PM TO 6 AM.
$300 penalty for smoking on the property. You will also be dismissed from your rental without a refund.
$250 penalty if noise level, parties, or other obscene behavior requires a police callout. You will also be dismissed from the property without a refund.
$100 Penalty for leaving trash outside the entrance to your property. Once your trash cans are full, please deposit trash in the large trash cans located at the building entrance.
$200 fine for leaving the Kayaks on the pool. Kindly return them to the designated place.
Please do not throw trash or paper towels or toilet paper in the toilet to avoid clogging. Please use the trash can :)
Damage to the interior of the property or common areas will result in a pro-rated auto-chargeback from your booking account
On checkout please turn off the lights, the A/C unit, water, and gas/stove, and lock the door behind you
Penalties will automatically be withdrawn from your security deposit and/or your booking account.
